To further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with sister organizations, on November 7, Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch, Chairman, and General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, led a delegation to revisit Sichuan Provincial Geological and Mineral (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the Geology and Mineral Group). During the visit, they held an exchange and discussion meeting with members of the leadership team, including Zhang Jingsong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Geology and Mineral Group; Luo Qibiao, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman; and Yang Shuyi, Member of the Party Committee, Director, and General Manager.

On November 8, 2023, Zhang Guangda, Party Branch Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute of Sichuan Resources Group, led a team to the 2023 Changning Shale Gas Field Wide-Field Electromagnetic Survey Project Office in Yibin City, Sichuan Province, to conduct a safety and quality inspection. The primary task of this project is to use the wide-field electromagnetic method—a core technology of the institute—to detect the structural features of the hanging wall and footwall of Fault No. 1 in the Tiangongtang anticline, as well as the electrical property distribution characteristics of the Cambrian Qiongzhu Temple Formation shale gas target layer, thereby providing technical support for subsequently delineating the boundaries of favorable exploration areas.

The holographic electromagnetic method exploration project conducted by the Institute of Geophysical Exploration on the Lu 203H8 platform has achieved the first-ever application of holographic electromagnetic methods for the accurate localization and detailed exploration of fractures and the spatial distribution of fracturing fluids in shale gas horizontal wells following hydraulic fracturing, yielding significant scientific research results.
