Recently, to encourage employees to hone their job-specific skills and foster a positive work environment characterized by dedication, professionalism, and a drive for excellence, the Trade Union of the Geophysical Exploration Institute organized a preliminary round of the 2023 Employee Vocational Skills Competition.

To achieve the goal of "using competitions to promote learning, practice, and capability development," the Geophysical Exploration Institute has integrated competitions into the production processes of 15 ongoing field projects, in conjunction with on-the-job training. More than 40 technical backbones have actively participated, confidently showcasing their technical expertise and professional spirit, thereby highlighting the institute's excellent corporate culture and outstanding professional demeanor.

At the competition venue, Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch of the Institute, Member of the Discipline Inspection Committee, and Chairman of the Trade Union, delivered a pre-competition rally. The referees then provided a detailed introduction to the rules and judging criteria for this competition. All participating contestants rigorously followed the competition procedures and engaged in fierce competition: laying out cables, taking measurements, setting fixed points, burying electrodes, inspecting equipment, connecting devices, collecting data... Each contestant was fully prepared, and the entire operation process was carried out in an orderly manner, with everyone striving to showcase their best skills. After intense and nerve-wracking competition, the results gradually became clear. According to the final rankings based on multiple competition outcomes, the top five contestants will represent the Geophysical Exploration Institute in the 2023 provincial-level workers’ vocational skills competition finals.

This competition not only serves as a test of the geophysical exploration technicians’ operational capabilities and overall condition, but also provides an opportunity for skill enhancement and exchange. Moving forward, the Geophysical Exploration Institute will further focus on building a specialized technical team, diligently honing our skills, refining our techniques, and striving to improve both our professional competence and innovative capacity, thereby continuously providing robust technical support services for Sichuan Resources Group.
