Good news! The Institute of Geophysical Exploration has been approved as one of the first batch of Doctoral Innovation Stations in Sichuan Province.

Recently, the Sichuan Provincial Association for Science and Technology announced the list of approved Doctoral Innovation Stations for 2025 in Sichuan Province. Relying on its solid research foundation, outstanding innovation capabilities, and a well-established talent-development system, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration successfully made the list and became one of the first institutions in the province to receive this recognition.

Strengthen the foundation of safety and quality, and firmly uphold responsibilities without any slackening—The Geophysical Exploration Institute conducts safety, technical, and quality inspections for field projects.

Recently, in order to earnestly implement the spirit of the Group’s First Party Congress and the relevant arrangements outlined in the Group’s “Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Construction of ‘Five First-Class’ Enterprises through the ‘Great Cycle, Great Campaign, Great Enhancement’ Initiative”—specifically those concerning strict adherence to the bottom line of safe production and rigorous control over technical quality—while fully implementing the requirements of the Geophysical Exploration Institute’s “Three-Year Action Plan for Root-Cause Remediation of Safe Production (2024-2026),” and solidifying the defenses for safety and technical quality, the Equipment Safety Supervision Department and the Technical Quality Department of the Geophysical Exploration Institute have jointly formed an inspection team to conduct safety and technical-quality checks on several ongoing field projects at the Institute.

On October 31, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration held the fourth expanded study session for the Party Committee’s theoretical study group in 2025, focusing on studying and implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, advancing the establishment of systems related to the rectification of inspection findings, and conveying and studying the Group’s relevant work requirements. Members of the company’s leadership team, secretaries of Party branches based in Chengdu, heads of various departments (entities), and Party members attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Chairman of the Trade Union. Yu Changheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration, delivered a concluding speech.

To further advance the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party, strengthen the institute’s awareness of integrity in professional conduct, and effectively reinforce the disciplinary defense line, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration held an educational warning meeting on violations of regulations involving business and enterprise operations on October 22. The meeting was chaired by Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Institute’s Party Committee, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Chairman of the Trade Union, who also delivered a collective reminder talk on integrity. All party members and mid-level or higher-ranking cadres based in Chengdu attended the meeting.

As an influential academic exchange platform in China’s earth sciences field, this year’s conference brought together thousands of experts and scholars from universities, research institutes, and enterprises across the country, who engaged in in-depth discussions around core topics such as “Deep-Earth Exploration and Resource Security.” Through a dual-track approach—featuring invited keynote speeches and presentations of research achievements—the Institute of Geophysical Exploration systematically showcased technological breakthroughs and practical application results in the field of geological exploration. Thanks to its solid technical foundation and proven track record, the Institute garnered widespread attention and recognition from the participating experts and scholars.

On October 19, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration and the China National Center for Airborne Geophysics and Remote Sensing of Natural Resources held an in-depth exchange and seminar focusing on industry development trends, technological innovation, resource sharing, and potential future collaboration. Both sides focused on the core needs in the field of mineral resource exploration, thoroughly discussed key pathways for the application of “Satellite-Air-Ground-Well” technologies and scientific research cooperation, and laid a solid foundation for potential future collaboration.
