Good News | The Institute of Geophysical Exploration Wins the Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in the Energy Innovation Award from the China Energy Research Association.
On December 25, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration’s project, “Key Technological Innovations and Applications in Electromagnetic Exploration for Shale Gas under Complex Geological Conditions,” was awarded the Third Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in the Energy Innovation Award by the China Energy Research Association!
The China Energy Research Association Energy Innovation Award, established in 2017 by the China Energy Research Association, is a national-level science and technology award designed to recognize innovative achievements and talented individuals in the energy sector. It focuses on breakthroughs in energy science and engineering, thereby promoting technological advancement and sustainable development within the industry.
This award-winning technology has broken through the core technological bottlenecks in shale gas exploration under complex geological conditions and has been successfully applied to key shale gas blocks such as those in southeastern Sichuan. Practice has shown that this technology not only significantly enhances exploration accuracy and operational efficiency but also effectively reduces exploration costs, providing a replicable and scalable technical solution for the large-scale, efficient development of domestic shale gas fields.
Next, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration will continue to deepen innovation in energy exploration technologies, focusing on the core technological needs for the exploration and development of clean energy sources such as shale gas, geothermal energy, and coalbed methane. We will make every effort to overcome critical technological barriers and accelerate the commercialization and implementation of scientific and technological achievements. At the same time, we will proactively integrate into the broader framework of the nation’s energy development strategy, strengthen collaborative partnerships and mutual learning with research institutions and leading enterprises in the industry, and leverage technological innovation as the driving force to empower the transformation and upgrading of the energy sector. In doing so, we will contribute even more geophysical expertise to safeguarding national energy security and promoting green, low-carbon, and high-quality development of the energy industry.
