Fire safety is no small matter—prevention at the earliest signs must be kept firmly in mind. To effectively strengthen all employees’ fire safety awareness and enhance their practical skills in fire prevention and emergency response, the Geophysical Exploration Institute meticulously organized a series of Fire Safety Awareness Month activities in November. Through a three-dimensional approach—combining “learning, inspection, and warnings”—the institute has built a robust “fireproof wall” for safe production. The activities have yielded remarkable results and received an enthusiastic response.

1. Strengthen the foundation through “learning” and solidify the defense line of safety awareness.

On November 6, the Geophysical Exploration Institute organized all employees to participate collectively in the group’s online fire safety training. The training video took real-life fire cases as its starting point, vividly explaining the causes of fires, initial firefighting techniques, and key points for evacuation and escape. Heart-wrenching images and detailed data sets enabled employees to directly grasp the urgency and importance of fire safety, effectively filling gaps in their everyday safety knowledge and laying a solid foundation for future safety practices.

2. Eliminate hazards through “inspection” and weave a tight safety network at the worksite.

On November 17, the Equipment Safety Supervision Department of the Geophysical Exploration Institute conducted a special fire safety “health check” of the warehouse, focusing on key aspects of warehouse fire safety: meticulously verifying that each fire extinguisher’s pressure is normal and that all fire hydrant accessories are complete, ensuring that fire-fighting equipment can be readily deployed and effectively used. The department also rigorously inspected whether the storage of items complies with regulations, firmly prohibiting any violations such as blocking fire escape routes. Furthermore, it carefully identified potential hazards like aging electrical wiring and unauthorized connections, taking proactive measures to prevent fire risks at their source. Meanwhile, fire safety posters were posted in high-traffic areas such as lobby floors and elevator lobbies, featuring eye-catching warning signs and visually rich safety information, thereby embedding the principle of “safety first” into daily work routines.

3. Keep “police” firmly in mind and keep the string of safety awareness taut.

On November 26, the Equipment Safety Supervision Department once again organized all employees to watch a fire-warning video, focusing on recent typical fire accident cases. The video thoroughly analyzed the tragic consequences resulting from improper operations and complacency—consequences that spanned from factory workshops to residential buildings, from initial hazards to full-blown disasters. Every single detail served as a stark reminder to employees that even “small oversights” can lead to “major accidents.” Everyone expressed that they would take these cases as a cautionary tale, remain constantly vigilant about safety, and proactively fulfill their fire safety responsibilities.

This Fire Safety Awareness Month campaign not only enabled all employees of the Geophysical Exploration Institute to master practical fire safety skills, but also fostered a strong atmosphere in which “everyone emphasizes safety, every task prioritizes safety, every moment involves safety awareness, and safety is paramount in every location.” Moving forward, the Geophysical Exploration Institute will establish a long-term fire safety management mechanism, conducting regular training sessions, inspections, and educational warnings to continuously consolidate the achievements of this campaign and provide solid safety guarantees to support the company’s high-quality development!
