From March 27 to 29, the 2023 Symposium on the Academician Expert Workstations of the Chinese Geophysical Society was held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. The symposium was organized by the Chinese Geophysical Society and hosted by the Henan Provincial Institute of Geology and the Science and Technology Promotion Committee of the Chinese Geophysical Society. While everyone was still immersed in the joyful atmosphere of the Spring Festival celebrating the Year of the Rabbit, the Geophysical Exploration Institute had already welcomed its first major wide-area electromagnetic fracturing monitoring project of the new year—the fracturing monitoring for the Changning H32 platform. This platform is designed to fracture a total of 10 wells and bears the heavy responsibility of boosting gas production in 2023. The planned construction period runs from January 14 to May 1. For the first time, this platform is employing dual-fracturing units and a new construction technique. Given the complex geological conditions on-site—characterized by well-developed fractures and faults—carrying out wide-area electromagnetic fracturing monitoring here poses a significant challenge.

Leverage professional strengths to support slope management.
The section of the G4216 highway from Ningnan to Panzhihua, from ZK404+680 to ZK404+840, has been affected by continuous rainfall over several days, resulting in deformation and collapse of part of the slope on the left side of the higher-kilometer marker. Slope instability is an objective reality in engineering construction and can easily trigger geological hazards such as landslides. If not addressed scientifically, this could lead to immeasurable losses for the project construction.
