To vigorously promote the spirit of model workers, the spirit of labor, and the spirit of craftsmanship, the Trade Union of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, in conjunction with the “May Day” theme, selected the “Model Workers” for 2022. This initiative aims to set exemplary role models, foster a widespread enthusiasm for learning from advanced role models, and inspire all employees to love their jobs, dedicate themselves wholeheartedly, and strive diligently.

I am a member of the Communist Party and an integral part of the Geophysical Exploration Institute. Over the past ten years, I have always been diligent, down-to-earth, and hardworking, fully demonstrating the exemplary role of a prospective Party member. I’ve poured my youth and passion into the geophysical exploration field—the career I love most. I still remember my very first time heading out into the field: I knew absolutely nothing about it. I followed experienced colleagues, carrying geophysical instruments and equipment weighing over thirty pounds, as we traversed towering mountains and deep valleys. At that time, I didn’t feel tired at all; what worried me was whether I’d be able to complete the task. Thanks to the careful guidance and nurturing provided by the Geophysical Exploration Institute, as well as the help and support from my colleagues, I’ve continuously honed my skills and expanded my knowledge over these ten years. From a young, inexperienced guy, I’ve grown into a project manager who dares to take on responsibilities. I’ve left my mark in Yunnan, Sichuan, Gansu, and other regions, contributing my strength and dedication to upholding the honor of the Geophysical Exploration Institute!

Since joining the Geophysical Exploration Institute family, I have been striving to adapt to my new work environment and role. From 2018 to the present, as a member of the Electrical Prospecting Department, I have diligently fulfilled my responsibilities and successfully completed all assigned tasks. These achievements would not have been possible without the years of nurturing and guidance provided by the Geophysical Exploration Institute. I firmly believe that this honor truly belongs to every hardworking member of our institute. It is precisely because we have worked together with one heart and one mind that our cause has flourished and continued to thrive. I will take this as a new starting point and embark on a fresh journey, remaining true to my original aspiration and forging ahead with unwavering determination.
Water Conservation Design Department, Wang Haocheng
I remember the summer of 2022, when heatwaves, drought, and the pandemic hit us one after another. Coincidentally, it was also the season for quarterly monitoring of soil and water conservation. To avoid delaying our work schedule, I led my colleagues to Weiyuan County to carry out the monitoring tasks. Braving the scorching sun at 40°C, we collected soil samples, set up sample plots, and measured soil erosion rates... In just one week, we completed soil and water conservation monitoring on more than 30 platforms and over 100 kilometers of pipelines. When we returned, everyone was laughing, each of us a shade darker from the sun—but I felt truly happy. It wasn’t just because we’d finished the job; it was because I finally understood that General Secretary Xi’s repeated emphasis on “Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets” is not merely a catchy slogan. Rather, it calls upon countless “us” to measure every inch of our motherland with our own footsteps and to turn this slogan into reality through our hard work. I’ll continue doing my best in my position, giving my all and shining brightly wherever I am.
