On April 21, the Geophysical Exploration Institute held a meeting of its Party Branch Theoretical Study Center Group, focusing on studying Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Members of the Institute’s Party Branch Theoretical Study Center Group attended the meeting, which was chaired by Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Institute’s Party Branch, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager.
The meeting focused on studying the following documents: Chapter 4 and Chapter 5 of the Report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China; Volume I of Selected Works of Xi Jinping—“Upholding Strict Political Life Within the Party and Promoting Comprehensive and Strict Governance Over the Party”; the Study Outline of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era—Chapter 9, “Guiding High-Quality Development with a New Development Philosophy: On Economic Construction in Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era”; and Chapters 6 and 7 of the Party Constitution.
Members of the central group discussed, each from their own perspective, their insights and experiences in studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, as well as their ideas, approaches, and measures for tackling difficult issues and advancing work.

Share and exchange
First, we must stay firmly on course and persevere without slackening. We need to ensure the right political direction, manage the overall strategic picture effectively, and rigorously implement policies in our daily management—using high-quality Party building to drive high-quality development.
Second, guide practice and drive work forward. We must deeply understand the major decisions, plans, and requirements of the CPC Central Committee, provincial and municipal Party committees, and the Party committee of our group. In the broader context of boosting the economy, advancing construction, and pursuing development, we need to find our rightful place and demonstrate greater achievements in promoting high-quality development.
Third, we must focus precisely and strive relentlessly. In line with the General Secretary’s call to “achieve high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and strength,” we must uphold scientific and technological innovation, pursue a path of specialization, refinement, uniqueness, and novelty, concentrate on major projects and key tasks, enhance our core competitiveness, and grow stronger, better, and bigger.
Fourth, we must be pragmatic and take the lead, demonstrating a spirit of proactive dedication and responsibility. Faced with new situations and new tasks, we must cultivate a sense of urgency and responsibility—recognizing that we cannot afford to slow down, cannot afford to wait, and cannot afford to sit still—and adopt an enterprising attitude of building bridges when encountering water and forging paths through mountains, thereby providing strong support for the geophysical exploration institute’s core work and high-quality development.
