Leaders from Chongqing Shale Gas Exploration and Development Co., Ltd. visited the Yuxi Wide-Area Exploration Project Department of the Geophysical Exploration Company to inspect and provide guidance on the work.

On March 24, 2022, an inspection team consisting of six members—including Tu Zhong, Deputy General Manager of Chongqing Shale Gas Exploration and Development Co., Ltd.; Zhang Haijie, Head of the Exploration and Development Department; Lei Bin, Deputy Head of the Quality, Safety, and Environmental Protection Department—visited the Project Office for the Comprehensive Analysis of the Causes of Low Resistivity in the Longmaxi–Wufeng Formation at the Jiangye探1 Well Area in the western Chongqing region (hereinafter referred to as the “Project Office”). This project is undertaken by Sichuan Zhongcheng Coalfield Geophysical Exploration Engineering Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the “Geophysical Exploration Company”). The working area is located in Bishan District and Jiangjin District of Chongqing Municipality. The primary task is to carry out wide-area electromagnetic surveys covering a total length of 307.9 km around the Jiangye探1 Well Area, to study the spatial distribution of low resistivity in the target shale gas strata; to investigate and comprehensively analyze the causes of low resistivity; and to further refine favorable areas based on electrical parameters, thereby providing technical support for the comprehensive evaluation and selection of optimal exploration zones.

On the afternoon of March 7, 2022, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration held an internal review meeting for the shale gas exploration project in the Changning Block, which is based on wide-area electromagnetic methods, in Conference Room 1409. Attending the meeting were experts and leaders including Professor Wang Xuben from Chengdu University of Technology, Expert Wang Lansheng from the Southwest Branch of PetroChina, Chief Expert Yang Keming from the Southwest Branch of Sinopec, Senior Engineer at the professorial level Yu Qian from the Chengdu Geological Survey Center of the China Geological Survey, Professor Li Diquan from Central South University, and Senior Engineer at the professorial level Yin Zhongshan from the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Geological Survey. Also in attendance were Zhang Guangda, Chairman and General Manager of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration, and Gu Zhiwen, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer. The meeting was chaired by Yu Changheng, Deputy General Manager and Chief Financial Officer of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration.

A snowy winter heralds a bountiful harvest—Geophysical Exploration Company kicks off the new year with a strong start.

On February 7, 2022—the seventh day of the Chinese New Year—while most people were still immersed in the festive atmosphere of the Spring Festival, the shale gas fracturing electromagnetic monitoring project at Wells Ning 209H72-2 and 3 of the Geophysical Exploration Company officially resumed operations after being refreshed by a spring snowfall, commencing the fracturing electromagnetic monitoring work.
