On December 11, the wide-area electromagnetic fracturing monitoring project for the first coalbed methane well undertaken by the Institute of Geophysical Exploration for Shaanxi Yanchang Petroleum (Group) Co., Ltd. successfully passed acceptance testing. On December 5, the wide-area electromagnetic fracturing monitoring project for another deep shale gas well in the western Chongqing block—undertaken by the Institute of Geophysical Exploration—successfully passed its acceptance inspection. At the acceptance meeting, the project leader innovatively presented the monitoring highlights and challenges during the well’s fracturing process, using precise and clear data charts as well as detailed and intuitive visualizations of the fracturing evolution. The presentation provided a comprehensive overview of the field operation methods, data interpretation, post-fracturing evaluation and analysis, and insightful recommendations.

On December 9, the second session of the 4th Congress of the Trade Union of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration was held in Chengdu. The congress was chaired by Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch Committee of the Institute, Member of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and Chairman of the Trade Union. On November 19, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration organized a democratic evaluation meeting to assess mid-level cadres whose probation periods had come to an end for the year 2024. The meeting was chaired by Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch Committee of the Institute, Member of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and Chairman of the Trade Union. A total of 47 participants attended the meeting, including members of the institute’s leadership team, members of the Party Branch Committee, senior managers, mid-level cadres, and employee representatives.
