The Phase I 3D Seismic Exploration Project in the Pingshan Block of the Sichuan Basin Has Successfully Passed Commissioning and Acceptance.
Recently, the commencement and acceptance meeting for Phase I of the 3D seismic exploration project in the Pingshan Block of the Sichuan Basin was held in Muchuan, Leshan. Following rigorous verification by the client and the supervision team, the project’s preliminary preparations, construction design, HSE safeguards, and personnel and equipment all met the required standards, thereby successfully passing the commencement acceptance and officially entering the field data acquisition phase.

This project is commissioned by Sichuan Oil and Gas Exploration and Development Co., Ltd. and implemented by a consortium led by Sichuan Natural Resources Investment Group Geophysical Exploration Institute Co., Ltd. in collaboration with the Southwest Geophysical Exploration Branch of Oriental Geophysical Exploration Corporation. The work area covers four counties in the two cities of Leshan and Yibin, with a total coverage area of approximately 120 square kilometers. Taking the Wufeng–Longmaxi Formation as the main target layer, the project adopts an integrated technology for acquisition, processing, and interpretation to precisely identify favorable shale gas zones and drilling targets, thereby providing data support for block exploration and development.
Moving forward, the project team will closely align with the Group’s strategic deployment for “integration, standardization, and intelligentization,” rigorously uphold safety, quality, and environmental protection red lines, and efficiently advance field data acquisition, data processing, and integrated interpretation, with the goal of delivering a high-quality exploration project that supports breakthroughs in shale gas exploration in southern Sichuan and strengthens regional energy security.
