Academician-Led Initiative Unites Strengths | Academician Sun Heping’s Team and the Institute of Geophysical Exploration Jointly Pursue Technological Breakthroughs and Sign Agreement to Embark on a New Journey
On October 21, Academician Sun Heping from the Institute of Precision Measurement Science and Technology Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences led his research team in a symposium and exchange meeting with the Institute of Geophysical Exploration, jointly discussing directions for innovative development and exploring potential avenues for cooperation in the field of geophysical exploration. Jiang Tao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman, and General Manager of Sichuan Resources Group, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Also in attendance were Zhang Qingsong, Head of the Mineral Technology Department of the Group; leaders of the Sichuan Provincial Geophysical Society; members of the leadership team of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration; and heads of relevant departments.
At the meeting, both sides engaged in an in-depth exchange on research areas including exploration geophysics, gravity surveys, fiber-optic seismic monitoring, and earthquake induction caused by shale gas development. They also reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation in areas such as talent exchange, collaborative technological problem-solving, and joint construction of research platforms, and formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement. This collaboration not only represents a complementary synergy between top-tier scientific research capabilities and industrial practice platforms, but will also inject strong momentum into the upgrading of geophysical exploration technologies and the green development of shale gas in Sichuan Province, helping to propel the industry toward a new stage of high-quality development.
From “one-time collaboration” to “long-term partnership,” and from “single-point breakthroughs” to “joint ecosystem development,” the cooperation between the Institute of Geophysical Exploration and the team led by Academician Sun Heping, as well as the Institute of Precision Measurement of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is not only a precise match of intellectual resources but also a vivid illustration of China’s scientific and technological community “writing papers on the land of our motherland.”
In the future, both sides will continue to be guided by national strategic needs, aiming to tackle the Group’s toughest challenges and address industry pain points. They will leverage more “from 0 to 1” original innovations and “from 1 to N” industrial transformations to inject strong momentum into the Group’s drive for scientific and technological self-reliance and strength.
