Joint Symposium among the Institute of Geophysical Exploration, the Sichuan Provincial Geophysical Society, and the Institute of Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration of the Guizhou Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources
On August 25, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration held a tripartite exchange seminar together with the Sichuan Provincial Geophysical Society and the Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration Institute of the Guizhou Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources. Yu Changheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration, chaired the meeting and participated in the discussions.
At the meeting, the three parties engaged in an in-depth discussion focused on the establishment of the “Geophysical Alliance for the Five Western Provinces,” putting forward visions and plans regarding the alliance’s development positioning and cooperation pathways. The three parties unanimously agreed that high-quality development in the geophysical field hinges on collaborative efforts among relevant stakeholders and independent breakthroughs. This can be achieved through cross-disciplinary application scenarios, innovative technological methodology systems, and the R&D of advanced exploration equipment. By orienting efforts toward actual needs, the parties can deepen mutual technical assistance, further enhance the efficiency of transforming scientific and technological achievements, and overcome technical challenges in regional development.
This exchange has laid a solid foundation for the subsequent implementation and development of the Geophysical Alliance in the western region. Moving forward, as the supporting unit of the Sichuan Office of the Chinese Geophysical Society, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration will work in close coordination with the Sichuan Geophysical Society, pooling regional resources and establishing an exchange platform to boost the development of geophysics and the upgrading of industries in the western region.
Leaders from the Institute of Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration of the Guizhou Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources, the Sichuan Provincial Geophysical Society, as well as members of the leadership team of the Geophysical Exploration Institute in Chengdu and heads of relevant departments, attended the symposium and exchange meeting.
