Capability Enhancement Year | The Sichuan Geophysical Society, in collaboration with the Chinese Geophysical Society and Chengdu University of Technology, jointly explores cooperation to support the 2025 China Geoscience Joint Academic Annual Meeting (CGU).

To further advance the special campaign "Year of Capability Enhancement," recently, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration took the co-organization of the 2025 China Geoscience Joint Academic Annual Meeting (CGU), scheduled for mid-to-late October in Chengdu, as an important practical platform. As the Sichuan Office of the Chinese Geophysical Society and one of the initiating organizations of the Sichuan Geophysical Society, the Institute accompanied a delegation from the Chinese Geophysical Society to Chengdu University of Technology for an exchange and symposium. Attending the meeting were leaders and experts including Xu Qiang, President of Chengdu University of Technology; Guo Jian, Secretary-General of the Chinese Geophysical Society; Wang Xuben, Chairman of the Sichuan Geophysical Society; Zhang Guangda, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Sichuan Geophysical Society; Yu Changheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration.


As one of the largest and most influential academic conferences in China’s earth sciences, the CGU Annual Meeting shoulders the important mission of providing a high-level platform for geoscientists to exchange ideas and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and technological innovation. At the meeting, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on preparations for the 2025 China Geoscience United Academic Annual Meeting (CGU) and on future cooperation in the field of earth sciences.

 

This symposium not only deepened the consensus among all parties in the field of Earth sciences but also laid a solid foundation for the successful hosting of the 2025 China Joint Academic Conference on Earth Sciences. Participants unanimously expressed their commitment to strengthening communication and collaboration, pooling resources and wisdom, and jointly transforming the CGU Annual Conference into an academic event with even greater international influence, thereby injecting new momentum into the development of Earth science in China.
