On July 1, the 2025 Semiannual Work Conference and the Second-Quarter Staff Meeting of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration were held in Chengdu. The meeting was chaired by Yu Changheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration. All cadres and employees of the Institute based in Chengdu, as well as some field project staff (via video link), attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Chairman of the Trade Union, explained the company’s “Regulations on Job Establishment and Appointment Management” and “Salary Management Regulations,” and reported on the feedback received from employees regarding these policies. Heads of various departments then spoke in turn to provide updates on their departments’ work during the first half of the year as well as their personal performance, followed by a live assessment of their half-year achievements. Members of the leadership team summarized their work in the first half of the year and outlined plans for the next phase, drawing on their respective areas of responsibility.

Yu Changheng conducted an analysis and assessment of the work performed in the first half of 2025. He stated that, in the first half of the year, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration maintained a stable safety production situation and achieved remarkable results in Party building and integrity-building efforts. In the first half of the year, the institute signed 46 new project contracts covering a wide range of locations and business areas, ensuring robust business activity and achieving more than half of the annual targets for both revenue and profit. Regarding the key tasks for the second half of the year, he emphasized:

First, we will continue to deepen the “Three Transformations and Three Enhancements,” the “Year of Capability Enhancement,” the “Integrity Cell” initiative, and the efforts to standardize and normalize Party building. We will persistently strengthen Party building, focusing on translating theoretical learning outcomes into practical capabilities that drive our work. We will always maintain a political awareness of staying in sync with the enterprise’s development, thereby leveraging high-quality Party building to guide the company’s high-quality growth.

Second, we will expand our operations and target markets by focusing on advancing projects such as exploration of shale gas drilling platforms in Sichuan and Chongqing, as well as oil and gas fracturing monitoring. We will consolidate our existing markets and actively pursue opportunities in solid mineral exploration markets in Tibet, Xinjiang, and overseas regions. To support these efforts, we will establish a dedicated bidding team under the Management and Operations Department and strengthen the development of our bidding team.

Third, we will strengthen technological innovation and project management, accelerate the commercialization of holographic electromagnetic methods and airborne electromagnetic methods, optimize end-to-end project management, and enhance cost accounting and progress tracking.

Fourth, strengthen safety production and compliance building, focusing on the critical flood-control period characterized by “seven ups and eight downs,” promote the renewal of safety production standardization certificates, and complete the establishment of a compliance management system.

Fifth, we will enhance team building and talent assurance by focusing on attracting high-level professionals in geophysics, sending technical backbones to participate in domestic and international academic conferences and exchange programs with research institutions, and improving the management mechanisms for academician and expert workstations.
