Joint Efforts by Government, Enterprises, and Research Institutions Empower the Construction of Pilot-Testing and R&D Platforms—The New Economy and Science & Technology Bureau of Qingyang District, Chengdu, and the Chengdu Productivity Promotion Center Conduct a Survey and Provide Guidance on the Scientific and Technological Work of the Geophysical Exploration Institute.
On April 22, leaders and staff from the New Economy and Technology Bureau of Qingyang District, Chengdu, and the Chengdu Productivity Promotion Center visited the Institute of Geophysical Exploration to conduct a special research study. They provided policy guidance and facilitated resource matching around key tasks such as applying for the construction of Sichuan Province’s pilot R&D platform for geophysical exploration of shale gas and submitting applications for provincial-level science and technology tackling projects, thereby helping the Institute of Geophysical Exploration enhance the capabilities of its science and technology innovation platform.
Focusing on the construction of pilot-scale platforms and jointly drawing up a blueprint for technological breakthroughs.
The research team conducted an on-site inspection of the current operational status of the Geophysical Exploration Institute’s existing platform, with a particular focus on hearing a briefing on the planned design of the “Sichuan Province Shale Gas Geophysical Exploration Pilot R&D Platform.” During the symposium, the three parties reached a consensus on strategic cooperation, clearly stating that they would take the construction of the pilot platform as the core, integrating the Geophysical Exploration Institute’s technological R&D strengths, the policy support system of Qingyang District, and the resource and service capabilities of the Productivity Promotion Center, to jointly advance the攻关 of key technologies for shale gas exploration and the application of resulting breakthroughs.
The research team stated that the pilot-scale R&D platform serves as a crucial hub for bridging technological innovation with industrial implementation. In the future, through supportive measures such as policy guidance, financial support, and open access to application scenarios, they will accelerate the application process for the geophysical exploration institute’s platform, provide end-to-end guidance for the standardization of pilot platforms, promote in-depth collaboration among industry, academia, and research institutions, and establish a benchmark innovation platform in the province’s shale gas exploration sector.

Strengthen policy empowerment and activate the platform’s innovative potential.
In response to the multi-dimensional platform construction needs of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration, the research team conducted on-site policy briefings, systematically reviewed the evaluation indicators for provincial-level academician workstations and the upgrade pathways for enterprise technology centers, and clearly identified key points for policy alignment. Yu Changheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration, stated that this round of research and guidance has provided a powerful boost to our institute’s platform development. With the precise policy support from government departments, the application and construction of the Institute’s pilot-scale testing platform will become smoother, and the upgrading of existing platforms’ capabilities will be accelerated.
This research and guidance marks a new stage in the construction of the geophysical exploration institute’s innovation ecosystem, characterized by deepened collaboration among government, enterprises, and research institutions. In the future, the Institute will leverage policy support and resource empowerment to accelerate the development of a pilot R&D platform for geophysical exploration of shale gas in Sichuan Province— a platform with significant industry influence. This initiative will provide technological support for safeguarding national energy security and promoting high-quality development of Sichuan’s green and low-carbon industries.
