Year of Capability Enhancement | The Geophysical Exploration Institute Takes Multiple Measures to Unleash New Momentum for Talent Development
To further stimulate the momentum for talent development and enhance the capabilities of cadres and employees in their work and entrepreneurship, since the beginning of this year, the Geophysical Exploration Institute has actively responded to the Group’s special “Capability Enhancement Year” initiative, promoting personnel capacity building in a comprehensive and multi-dimensional manner. As a result, significant progress has been made in improving employees’ professional expertise and overall competencies.
The training efforts have yielded remarkable results.
Since the beginning of this year, the Geophysical Exploration Institute has carefully planned and systematically organized training activities, successfully conducting five external training sessions to date. The training content covers a variety of critical areas, including hydrogen sulfide protection, safety production knowledge, public relations and publicity work, advanced training in geophysical exploration techniques, and internal auditor training—each closely aligned with actual job requirements. Through systematic learning, employees have updated their knowledge and enhanced their skills in various professional fields, effectively improving their ability to tackle complex work challenges and laying a solid foundation for their ongoing work.
Build a diverse platform for learning and exchange.
In the first quarter, the Geophysical Exploration Institute actively organized its core technical specialists to “go out,” with a total of 53 person-times participating in external conferences and technical exchange activities held jointly with energy companies, research institutions, and industry associations. In all, they attended 14 external technical exchange events covering cutting-edge areas such as exploration technology research, gas-water identification, and mineral resource development, traveling to cities including Chengdu, Urumqi, and Changsha. Through these in-depth exchanges with various stakeholders in the industry, the institute’s technical experts have thoroughly absorbed advanced technological achievements and valuable practical experience.
For a long time, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration has been committed to pooling superior resources and scientific research strengths from various parties, conducting joint problem-solving and innovative research, and building a technology innovation platform with positive societal impact. By leveraging platforms such as the Academician (Expert) Innovation Workstations, Chengdu Enterprise Technology Centers, Science and Innovation Centers, and four Young Scientists’ Innovation Studios, the Institute encourages staff members to engage in scientific and technological innovation, patent invention, and other related activities, thereby tapping into their full potential. Additionally, the Institute organizes innovation and efficiency competitions as well as staff skill contests, providing employees with a stage to showcase their abilities. These initiatives not only promote the development of core technologies, deepen the integration of industry, academia, and research, and accelerate the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, but also open up new pathways for attracting and cultivating talent, injecting strong momentum into the development of the Institute’s geophysical exploration endeavors.
In addition, the Geophysical Exploration Institute has also laid a comprehensive foundation for talent development. On the one hand, the “mentor-apprentice” model continues to be optimized and upgraded. In practice, the Institute has moved beyond merely imparting technical skills, expanding the scope of mentorship to include the cultivation of well-rounded competencies. While focusing on technical advancement, it also pays close attention to employees’ career planning and the development of their teamwork abilities, thereby fully motivating both mentors and apprentices, fostering a vibrant learning environment, and helping new employees grow rapidly while ensuring that the Institute’s fine traditions are passed down effectively. On the other hand, the Institute actively encourages employees to pursue higher education and obtain professional titles. It proactively provides employees with relevant information and institutional support for further education and title certification, thereby broadening their knowledge and perspectives, optimizing the overall knowledge structure of the workforce, and providing a stronger talent base for the company’s long-term development.
Next, the Geophysical Exploration Institute will continue to deepen its efforts to enhance various capabilities, constantly explore new innovations, and create more opportunities for employee growth and the development of the geophysical exploration industry, thus writing a new chapter of high-quality development.
