Recently, the Innovation Workstation for Academicians (Experts) of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration has been officially approved and established with the consent of relevant departments and associations in Chengdu. As an important platform for the Group to implement the national energy and resource security strategy, this workstation brings together a high-end think tank led by Academician He Jishan and a team of renowned experts from universities in Sichuan Province. This marks a crucial step forward for the Group in tackling key technologies for deep-earth exploration and enhancing its capacity to secure strategic mineral resources.

The workstation will focus on innovation in core technologies for geophysical exploration, with a particular emphasis on overcoming “bottleneck” technologies such as shale gas exploration and development and deep-sea mineral prospecting, thereby accelerating the establishment of a collaborative innovation system involving industry, academia, research, and application. By implementing mechanisms such as “listing challenges and appointing leaders” and “project partnerships,” we will drive breakthrough progress in major projects—including oil and gas exploration—under the Group’s “Eight Major Projects,” and ensure the effective commercialization of scientific research outcomes.

The Group will take this as an opportunity to deeply implement its “Talent-Driven Enterprise” strategy, cultivating a strategic talent pipeline through the mentorship and guidance provided by academicians and experts. It will also build a nationally competitive innovation consortium for deep-earth exploration, contributing pioneering efforts in Natural Resources to safeguard national energy and resource security and write a new chapter for Sichuan’s Chinese-style modernization.
