On February 25, the Geophysical Exploration Institute held the first (expanded) study session of 2025 for the Party Branch’s Theory Study Center Group. The meeting was chaired by Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Institute’s Party Branch, Member of the Discipline Inspection Committee, and Chairman of the Trade Union. Yu Changheng, Deputy Secretary of the Institute’s Party Branch and General Manager, delivered a concluding speech. Members of the Institute’s Party Branch’s Theory Study Center Group, senior managers, and heads of various departments attended the meeting.

The meeting focused on studying Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important ideas on Party building and on the Party’s self-revolution, General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speeches and instructions on Natural Resources work, as well as the key spirits of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Sixth Plenary Session of the 12th Provincial Party Committee. The meeting also conveyed the key spirits from the Group’s 2025 Work Conference on Party Building, Integrity and Anti-Corruption, and the February 2025 Coordination Meeting. Members of the central study group engaged in exchanges and discussions around the theme of “further deepening our understanding and unifying our thinking to lay a solid ideological and theoretical foundation for conducting high-quality democratic life meetings.”

The meeting emphasized:

Comprehensively and strictly governing the Party is vital to the long-term stability and prosperity of the Party and the country, and must be integrated into every aspect of daily work. We need to strengthen Party spirit education in ideological development, organizational development, and work style development; strictly enforce the procedures for developing Party members; and reinforce supervision, discipline enforcement, and accountability, thereby fostering a clean and upright working environment.

Party discipline and education should be treated as a long-term task, with a systematic plan developed to enhance party members’ awareness of discipline and rules through methods such as case analysis.

We must uphold Party building as the guiding principle, integrate Party building into every stage of our business operations, give full play to the exemplary and leading role of Party members, deepen the “dual integration” of Party building, carry out distinctive Party-building activities centered around the Party’s “135 Work System,” and use Party building to overcome challenges in business development.

We must shoulder the heavy responsibility of ensuring national resource security as a geological exploration unit. In accordance with national requirements and the Group’s deployment, we should optimize our work arrangements and enhance our capabilities and technological levels.

We must place great emphasis on scientific and technological innovation and continuously enhance our market competitiveness. We should increase R&D investment in conjunction with project production, strengthening our innovation efforts around three key areas: holography, fracture monitoring, and airborne geophysical exploration. At the same time, we need to reinforce brand building and improve the quality of our technologies and services.

Meeting Requirements

We must further unify our thinking and deepen our understanding through this study, laying a solid foundation for successfully holding the democratic life meeting, promoting greater achievements of the Geophysical Exploration Institute in all aspects, and contributing to the cause of Natural Resources.
