The Institute of Geophysical Exploration participated in the symposium on trade union-related work conducted by the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Trade Unions within the Group.

On November 18, 2022, Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch, Member of the Discipline Inspection Committee, and Chairman of the Trade Union of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, attended, as a representative of grassroots trade union workers, the symposium on the comprehensive implementation of the main responsibility for strict Party governance in the trade union system, organized by the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Trade Unions at the headquarters of the Sichuan Natural Resources Investment Group. He also presented a work report on the Geophysical Exploration Institute to the research team.

Zou Zhongping’s report focused primarily on the Institute of Geophysical Exploration’s general situation, its production and operations, trade union activities, and the trade union’s implementation of the main responsibility for comprehensively enforcing strict Party governance. He emphasized that under the correct leadership of the Group Party Committee, the Institute has consistently pursued a path of becoming a technology-driven service-oriented enterprise, proactively implementing and putting into practice the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle and the “One Main Hub with Multiple Branches” development strategy. By employing innovative technologies and delivering high-quality geophysical exploration results, the Institute has provided crucial support to major projects such as the Sichuan-Tibet Railway and China’s “Gas Daqing.” Moreover, the Institute has vigorously strengthened innovation to accelerate the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements and strive to be a pioneer in the high-tech industry. Throughout its development, the Institute has maintained unwavering focus on production and operations, steadily enhancing its overall economic strength. Currently, its completed operating revenue has increased by 121% compared to last year, and employee incomes have also achieved the set target of an 11% increase over the previous year.

Regarding the trade union work at the Geophysical Exploration Institute, Zou Zhongping focused his report on how the institute’s trade union, under the leadership of the Group Party Committee, the trade union, and the Party Branch Committee of the institute, has consistently kept its trade union activities closely aligned with the frontline production, put employees at the center, and taken Party building as the guiding principle. By fully leveraging the role of various activity platforms, the trade union has strengthened employee cohesion and solidarity, fostered a warm and caring corporate culture, and promoted the healthy and rapid development of the enterprise. At the same time, the Geophysical Exploration Institute’s trade union firmly implements all decisions and deployments made by the institute’s Party Branch Committee, actively fulfills its main responsibility for comprehensively enforcing strict Party governance, and pushes forward the construction of Party integrity and clean governance in greater depth. Building on multiple measures to strengthen the management of trade union funds’ income and expenditure, the trade union also puts into practice the main responsibility for comprehensive and strict Party governance from several aspects: taking the lead in Party integrity and clean governance, building a solid “firewall” for Party integrity and clean governance, constantly reminding employees of the importance of Party integrity and clean governance through “tightening the reins,” and establishing “high-voltage lines” for Party integrity and clean governance.

Regarding the work report from the Geophysical Exploration Institute, Zhong Yanying, leader of the research team, head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group stationed at the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions by the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, and a member of the Party Leadership Group of the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, gave high praise. She noted that although the Geophysical Exploration Institute is not large in scale, it delivers high-quality work, operates under standardized management, and has all the essential components necessary for trade union activities. Moreover, the institute has effectively implemented its primary responsibility for comprehensively enforcing strict Party governance, demonstrating distinctive strengths—experiences that are worthy of being summarized and promoted. Chen Guilin, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Group, who also attended the meeting, encouraged the Geophysical Exploration Institute to continue building on its strengths, uphold its best practices, and take its work to new heights.
