The Institute of Geophysical Exploration achieved excellent results at the 2023 Sichuan Province Workers’ Vocational Skills Competition.
From December 17 to 18, the Geophysical Exploration Institute participated in the 2023 Sichuan Provincial Workers’ Vocational Skills Competition and the inaugural Sichuan Natural Resources Investment Group Workers’ Vocational Skills Competition. The competition was co-hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Trade Unions and the Sichuan Natural Resources Investment Group, organized by the trade union of the Sichuan Natural Resources Investment Group, and supported by the Geophysical Exploration Institute, the Surveying and Mapping Company, Huafeng Drilling, and Geological and Mineral Materials.
After several rounds of selection, 13 units from Sichuan Resources Group, comprising 18 competing teams and a total of 64 participants, have advanced to the finals. Among them, three members from the Geophysical Exploration Institute have made it to the finals. The geophysical exploration finals consist of both a theoretical knowledge assessment and a practical skills assessment, focusing on the contestants’ mastery of specialized theoretical knowledge in geology and geophysical exploration, as well as their proficiency in high-density electrical resistivity method, magnetotelluric method, rock classification, and physical property testing techniques.

After fierce competition, the Geophysical Exploration Institute won the first-place team award in the geophysical exploration event, as well as first-, second-, and third-place individual awards.
