Embarking on a new journey, Sichuan Resource Geophysical Exploration is helping "Gas Daqing" write a new chapter.
As the weather begins to warm and the days grow longer, the springtime is truly delightful—every living thing seems to thrive and bloom with vibrant fragrance. At the start of 2022, the Geophysical Exploration Institute closely followed the exploration and development efforts of the Southern Sichuan Shale Gas Project Team and embarked on the work of identifying well locations for the Southern Sichuan shale gas platform.
The Weiyuan, Luzhou, and Changning blocks in the southern Sichuan region feature complex surface topography, with newly exposed strata of relatively young age and deep burial depths of the target shale gas formations. Therefore, conducting shale gas exploration and development activities in this region will pose new challenges.
From February to April 2022, experts and technical personnel from the Ningdian Electromagnetic Method Project Department of the Geophysical Exploration Institute set out on their journey. Targeting different blocks and regions with varying surface environmental conditions and subsurface geological settings, they sought to identify the optimal combination of integrated geophysical exploration techniques to address engineering geological issues within a depth of 1,000 meters or shallower. The Geophysical Exploration Institute’s participation in this project at the early design stage underscores the full-scale application of our work achievements over recent years by both the client and the evaluation body, and further demonstrates the owner’s strong recognition of our geophysical expertise and team.
The continuous rain made us unaware that spring had already passed; only when the skies cleared did we realize summer had deepened. In June 2022, the 2022 Well-Location Platform Geological Anomaly Detection Project for the 0–1000-meter depth range was officially launched. The Party members of the Changning Electromagnetic Method Project Team remained steadfast at their posts, undaunted by hardship. Taking national energy security as their own responsibility, they united as one, pooling their strength and determination to provide robust technical support for the construction of the Southern Sichuan Shale Gas Exploration and Development Pilot Zone—and to present, on the occasion of the Party’s birthday, a tribute woven from the sweat and dedication of geophysical exploration professionals.
All members of the Changning Electrical Method Project Team will continue to intensify their theoretical study. We must integrate the spirit of the 12th Provincial Party Congress and the important instructions delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection tour of Sichuan into our work, contributing our efforts to the cause of resource exploration in Sichuan and helping “Gas Daqing” write a new chapter. Let us greet the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with outstanding achievements!
