On August 5, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration organized a symposium on water and soil conservation work for the first half of 2022. Attendees included members of the institute’s leadership team, staff from the Water and Soil Conservation Design Department, and personnel from the Technical Quality Department. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration.

At the symposium, Li Zhen, Head of the Water and Soil Conservation Design Department, systematically reported on the department’s water and soil conservation work for the first half of the year. As of July 2022, the Water and Soil Conservation Design Department had a total of 26 ongoing contracts and 179 ongoing projects, including 23 projects for preparing soil and water conservation plans, 50 projects for soil and water conservation monitoring, and 106 projects for completion acceptance and evaluation of soil and water conservation facilities. In the first half of the year, water and soil conservation projects showed steady growth and demonstrated strong development momentum. However, there are still certain shortcomings in areas such as talent structure, equipment upgrades, and market operations, and further improvements will be needed going forward.

Subsequently, the project leaders from the Water and Soil Conservation Design Department each provided a detailed report on the progress of their respective projects. After listening to these reports, members of the institute’s leadership team, drawing on the practical realities of water and soil conservation work, put forward targeted comments and suggestions regarding the management and production aspects of the institute’s Water and Soil Conservation Design Department.

Zhang Guangda listened carefully to the remarks and frequently engaged in exchanges and discussions with the colleagues who had spoken on related issues. He praised the Water Conservation Design Department’s achievements in the first half of the year, while also pointing out areas for improvement and putting forward specific requirements for the next phase of work.

First, we must actively conduct internal review meetings, strictly enforce technical quality requirements, ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards, and achieve a qualitative improvement in each project.

Second, we must maintain close ties with the client, continue to strengthen communication and exchange, focus on enhancing our professional expertise, steadily advance project implementation, and continuously explore new business markets.

Third, we must enhance our professional skills in water and soil conservation, actively participate in industry training and exchanges, intensify our learning, and improve our technical expertise to ensure the quality of water and soil conservation work.

Fourth, proactively apply for professional and technical titles and actively participate in title evaluations to enhance your overall capabilities.

Fifth, continue to work on upgrading the qualifications related to water and soil conservation, laying a solid foundation for business expansion.
