The section from ZK404+680 to ZK404+840 of the G4216 highway project, from Ningnan to Panzhihua, has been affected by continuous rainfall over several days, resulting in deformation and collapse of part of the slope on the left side of the higher-kilometer marker. Slope instability is an objective reality in engineering construction and can easily trigger geological hazards such as landslides. If not addressed scientifically, this could lead to immeasurable losses for the construction project.

After receiving the project assignment, the Sichuan Institute of Geophysical Exploration immediately headed to the project site. After consulting with relevant technical personnel, they decided to employ a combination of geological surveying, high-density electrical resistivity tomography, ground-penetrating radar, and intelligent microseismic monitoring—multiple geophysical exploration methods—to conduct a comprehensive and detailed investigation of the slope.

Through the above-mentioned comprehensive geological exploration methods, we have ensured that, even under complex topographical conditions, we can obtain thorough and accurate first-hand data, clearly identifying the spatial distribution of highly weathered and completely weathered rock layers at the slope location. This provides reliable geological information for slope stabilization design, thereby effectively preventing the occurrence of slope-related geological hazards.
