Sichuan Institute of Resource Geophysics Participates in the 2023 Chinese Geophysical Society Academician and Expert Workstation Symposium.
From March 27 to 29, the 2023 Symposium of the Chinese Geophysical Society’s Academician and Expert Workstations was held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. The symposium was organized by the Chinese Geophysical Society and hosted by the Henan Provincial Institute of Geology and the Science and Technology Promotion Committee of the Chinese Geophysical Society. More than 80 participants from over 30 institutions—including the Society’s Academician Workstations, key laboratories, and pilot units for science and technology promotion—attended the symposium.
In 2022, the Sichuan Institute of Resource Geophysical Exploration successfully applied to the Chinese Geophysical Society for the designation of “Pilot Unit for Science and Technology Promotion by the Chinese Geophysical Society.” As the first pilot unit for science and technology promotion in Southwest China, the Sichuan Institute of Resource Geophysical Exploration was invited to attend the relevant conference. Yu Changheng, Deputy General Manager of the Institute, delivered a detailed report on the institute’s achievements in key technologies—including the electromagnetic method for precise well-site selection in shale gas reservoirs under complex geological conditions, wide-area electromagnetic fracturing monitoring technology, airborne geophysical exploration, and aquatic geophysical exploration—while also outlining plans for the next phase of science and technology promotion efforts.
This conference has played a crucial role as a platform for gathering innovative resources, nurturing innovative talent, and enhancing innovation capabilities. Through the sharing and exchanges among participating organizations, we have deepened our understanding of market application needs and industry pain points and challenges. Moreover, by engaging in in-depth exchanges and learning on critical “chokehold” technologies and methodologies, we have opened up new avenues for technological innovation in the field of geophysical exploration.
Taking this as an opportunity, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration will carefully summarize its technical challenges and bottleneck issues. Leveraging the technological strengths of the Academician and Expert Workstation as a platform, it will seek breakthroughs and develop core technologies and specialized brands that reflect the unique characteristics of the Sichuan Institute of Resource Geophysics. In the future, Sichuan Institute of Resource Geophysics will strive to achieve breakthroughs in new frontiers—such as deep space, deep earth, and deep time—during the next round of mineral exploration efforts, thereby contributing to the nation’s ongoing endeavors to discover new mineral deposits, increase reserves, and boost production.
