The Sichuan Institute of Resource Geophysics and the No. 6 Geological Brigade of Sichuan Province held an exchange and symposium.
On the morning of May 25, Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, led a delegation to Luzhou to hold a symposium and exchange with the Sixth Geological Brigade of Sichuan Province. Attending the meeting were Dai Jingru, Captain of the Sixth Geological Brigade of Sichuan Province and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Tan Shenshan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Captain; Cen Xuenong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee (at the bureau-level); Wu Yonggui, Deputy Captain; Gu Zhiwen, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of the Geophysical Exploration Institute; and Liu Jinhui, a member of the Party Branch Committee.
Zhang Guangda stated that the relationship between the Geophysical Exploration Institute and the No. 6 Geological Brigade has a long history. He himself spent 13 years working in geological exploration and oil-and-gas prospecting with Team 135, and he is deeply grateful for the training and guidance he received from Team 135, harboring profound affection for the team. Following the reform of provincial geological exploration units, which led to the formation of one bureau, one institute, and one group, this marks the first time the Geophysical Exploration Institute has engaged in work exchanges with the No. 6 Geological Brigade. Subsequently, Zhang Guangda provided an overview of the Geophysical Exploration Institute’s basic situation, covering aspects such as staff size, operating revenue, and project implementation. He highlighted the institute’s four core technologies, four science and technology innovation studios, and its status as the Sichuan Office of the Chinese Geophysical Society and a pilot unit for science and technology promotion. This year, the institute, in collaboration with Chengdu University of Technology, is applying to become a member of the Sichuan Provincial Geophysical Society. Finally, Zhang Guangda summarized the institute’s development journey, emphasizing that to achieve success, they must stay true to their strengths, take personal responsibility, remain down-to-earth, and continuously integrate and innovate—only then can they forge a path of accomplishment through hard work and dedication. At the same time, he also wished the No. 6 Geological Brigade continued progress and new heights in its development.
Dai Jingru, representing the No. 6 Geological Brigade of Sichuan Province, warmly welcomed Zhang Guangda and his delegation, expressing his heartfelt appreciation for having witnessed firsthand the journey of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration—from its establishment and integration to its management and development, as it rose from a low point to a high-level platform. Subsequently, Dai Jingru provided an in-depth introduction to the basic situation of the No. 6 Geological Brigade of Sichuan Province. The brigade was jointly established by the former Teams 135 and 113, representing a powerful alliance of two strong entities. Its business scope has evolved from initial coal exploration to encompass resource exploration, geological hazard control, drilling engineering, and foundation and substructure construction. At the same time, he also shared information on the personnel and ongoing projects within the brigade’s geophysical exploration specialty. He expressed his hope that, by learning from and drawing upon the Institute of Geophysical Exploration’s best practices and experiences, both sides could further deepen their cooperation and exchanges, achieving complementary advantages and synergistic development.
Tan Senshan provided additional information on the other work activities of the Sixth Geological Brigade of Sichuan Province, and also expressed great optimism about future cooperation between the two organizations in the field of geophysical exploration.
During the enthusiastic symposium, participants from both sides engaged in extensive exchanges and in-depth discussions on issues such as advancing institutional reform, enterprise management, geophysical exploration technologies, equipment and facilities, staff salaries, and expanding into new business areas. Both sides reached an agreement to resolve the equity issue of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, thereby paving the way for the next stage of reform and ensuring that the younger generation at the Institute can focus on their work without any worries. Furthermore, they agreed to strengthen exchanges across all fronts, foster full cooperation and joint efforts, and work hand in hand to promote the development of both organizations.
