The Institute of Geophysical Exploration Holds a Meeting to Promote Work for “Safety Production Month”

On the morning of June 16, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration held a work promotion meeting for “Safety Production Month” in Chengdu. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager of the Institute. Members of the institute’s leadership team and heads of various departments attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Mou Yu, Deputy Director of the Equipment and Safety Supervision Department of the Institute, provided a detailed report on the progress of the Geophysical Exploration Institute’s “Safety Production Month” activities for 2023 and outlined plans for the next phase of work. Heads of the physical departments conducted a comprehensive analysis of the safety production situation at each ongoing project and proposed specific measures for the next steps in safety work.

After listening to the briefing on the relevant situation, Zhang Guangda emphasized that the event should closely adhere to the theme of “Everyone Talks Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies.” Based on the actual conditions of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, we should organize a “Safety Production Month” activity that is down-to-earth, meaningful, and uniquely characteristic of the Institute. During the event, we must promote safety knowledge, strengthen safety awareness, solidify the safety foundation, foster a positive safety atmosphere, and comprehensively enhance the Institute’s management level in safety production.

● Conduct emergency drills to strengthen our safety defenses.

On the afternoon of June 16, to further enhance the institute’s capabilities in managing radioactive sources and improve the professional skills of well logging operators, the Institute’s Equipment Safety and Supervision Department, in collaboration with the Institute’s Well Logging Station, organized a safety emergency drill for radioactive sources used in geophysical exploration in Sichuan Province.

At the drill site, Zeng Lingdong, Safety Consultant from the Institute’s Equipment and Safety Supervision Department, delivered a briefing on relevant laws, regulations, and management systems, including the Nuclear Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Prevention and Control of Radioactive Pollution, the Management Measures for Radiation Safety Work with Radioactive Sources at the Geophysical Exploration Institute, and the Safety Operating Procedures for Radioactive Sources at the Geophysical Exploration Institute.

The well logging expert from the institute explained the relevant precautions during well logging operations and provided a comprehensive demonstration of each step in the well logging procedure, as well as the correct procedures for handling emergency situations.

This emergency drill activity actively responded to the requirements of the institute’s “Safety Production Month” work promotion meeting. Participants enhanced their skills both in theory and in practical operations, playing a positive role in standardizing safe behaviors and strengthening safety awareness. The drill has served as a powerful boost for the institute’s upcoming logging operations, providing a solid foundation of safety assurance for the institute’s safe production and high-quality development.
