The Geophysical Exploration Institute Conducts In-depth Safety and Quality Inspections at Project Sites and Launches a "Deliver Coolness" Campaign.
From August 3 to 4, Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, led a team to the “2023 Well-Location Platform 0-1,000-meter Geological Anomaly Detection” project site for an on-site safety and quality inspection. This inspection was conducted to ensure the smooth progress of the project, high-quality results, and customer satisfaction.
The project involved a total of 31 technical personnel and employed an integrated geological and geophysical exploration and drilling approach. The primary geophysical methods used included high-density electrical resistivity tomography, transient electromagnetic method, audio-frequency magnetotellurics, microtremor analysis, and shallow seismic surveys. Divided into six specialized production teams, these teams carried out simultaneous operations at the shale gas platforms, supported by two interpretation teams. The main outputs provided to the drilling platforms included analyses of subsurface karst features, fault fracture zones, and groundwater connectivity, which served to support drilling design, construction, and environmental assessments. The exploration area for this project encompassed 18 shale gas platform sites located in Xingwen County and Gaoxian County, Yibin, with a project duration of four months.
Due to the project’s high difficulty, tight schedule, and complex topographical and geological conditions, we face different challenges every single day. The project team members rise early and work late, overcoming numerous obstacles throughout the project and steadfastly remaining on the front lines. After completing field data collection, no matter how late it gets, they always make sure to thoroughly organize and summarize the on-site data. They exemplify the spirit of hard work and perseverance characteristic of geophysical exploration professionals.
During this inspection, which involved on-site visits and interviews, we found that the project is progressing smoothly, all stages are seamlessly coordinated, and the project team members are in high spirits. All of this is attributable to the project team’s meticulous planning and rational scheduling.
During the inspection break, the hospital’s trade union also delivered cooling supplies to frontline project staff, allowing them to experience a touch of coolness and care amid the scorching summer heat. At the project site, Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch, Member of the Discipline Inspection Committee, and Chairman of the Trade Union of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, personally handed out heat-prevention supplies and bottles of heat-relief medication to the project team members. He repeatedly emphasized that, during these high-temperature days, everyone must carefully schedule their work hours, take proper precautions against sun exposure, and stay well-hydrated.
