The first general meeting of the Sichuan Geophysical Society, hosted by the Institute of Geophysical Exploration, was successfully held.
On November 23, the first general meeting of the Sichuan Geophysical Society, hosted by the Geophysical Exploration Institute of Sichuan Natural Resources Investment Group, was held in Chengdu.
More than 200 people attended this conference. The "Articles of Association of the Sichuan Geophysical Society" were adopted by a vote, and 61 directors, 20 executive directors, 8 vice-chairpersons, 1 secretary-general, and 1 chairperson were elected.
Wang Xuben from Chengdu University of Technology was elected as Chairman of the Board, and Zhang Guangda from Sichuan Resources Group was elected as Vice Chairman and Secretary-General.
The successful convening of the first General Assembly of the Sichuan Provincial Geophysical Society marks an important milestone in the development of geophysics in Sichuan Province, signifying that the society has officially entered a steady and orderly phase. It also represents a vivid practice of the innovation-driven development strategy in the field of geophysics.
As the Sichuan Office of the Chinese Geophysical Society and a pilot unit for science and technology promotion under the Chinese Geophysical Society, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration shoulders significant responsibilities and missions. In the future, the Institute will fully leverage its professional strengths and technological capabilities in the field of geophysics, actively participate in the Society’s academic exchanges and collaborations, promote the dissemination and application of emerging geophysical technologies, strengthen the development of talent in the geophysics discipline, and make positive contributions to fostering the sustainable development of the Sichuan Geophysical Society.
Leaders from the Sichuan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, the Sichuan Provincial Association for Science and Technology, and the Chinese Geophysical Society attended the meeting as guests.
