The Institute of Geophysical Exploration held the 6th (expanded) study session of the Party Branch Theoretical Study Center Group for 2024.
On December 30, the Geophysical Exploration Institute held the sixth (expanded) study session of the Party Branch Theoretical Study Center for 2024. The meeting was chaired by Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Institute’s Party Branch, Member of the Discipline Inspection Committee, and Chairman of the Trade Union. Members of the Institute’s Party Branch Theoretical Study Center, senior managers, and heads of departments attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on studying the important speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Central Economic Work Conference and the Meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, as well as General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important remarks on propaganda, ideological and cultural work, and ideological consciousness. Participants also studied the spirit of the Provincial Party Committee’s Economic Work Conference. Members of the central study group exchanged views around the theme: “Deeply study and implement the spirit of the Economic Work Conference and propel high-quality development onto a new journey.”

Focusing on our core responsibilities and driving high-quality development, the Geophysical Exploration Institute has seized numerous new opportunities.
On the one hand, as the nation strengthens its guarantee of strategic mineral resources and Sichuan Province accelerates the construction of a pilot zone for innovative development of national strategic resources, geophysical exploration—being one of the key methods for mineral exploration—must further increase investment in scientific and technological research. It should also collaborate with universities and research institutes to establish industry-academia-research-application platforms, break through critical technologies such as deep-probing and intelligent mineral exploration, and enhance the quality and effectiveness of geophysical exploration methods in resource discovery. This will lay a solid foundation for the Group’s core business to achieve robust growth and for the revitalization of Sichuan’s mining industry.
On the other hand, in alignment with Sichuan’s “dual-carbon” goals and its vision of becoming an ecologically strong province, we should continue to actively participate in the exploration of clean energy resources such as shale gas and geothermal energy in the Sichuan-Chongqing region, thereby contributing to the optimization of the energy structure.

The talent pool is the “hardcore” support for the geophysical exploration institute’s high-quality development.
Externally, we will leverage Sichuan’s abundant scientific and educational resources by establishing order-based training programs and jointly building internship bases with relevant departments at universities within Sichuan, such as Chengdu University of Technology and Southwest Petroleum University, to attract outstanding students to join our institute in the field of geological exploration. We will also recruit top-tier industry talent with competitive compensation packages, bringing cutting-edge ideas and technologies to the institute.
Internally, we must deepen the “Resource Craftsmen” development program, strengthen skills training and professional competitions, and carry forward the geophysical exploration institute’s tradition of “mentor-apprentice” relationships. By pairing experienced professionals with newcomers, we will enhance team capabilities and build a highly qualified, specialized geophysical exploration force that meets the demands of the new era.
