The Geophysical Exploration Institute held its second-quarter employee meeting for 2024.

On July 17, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration held its second-quarter 2024 staff meeting via video conference. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch Committee, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager, who also delivered a concluding speech. A total of 60 participants attended the meeting, including all on-site staff and employees based in Chengdu as well as representatives from the four field project teams.

The meeting reported on the completion of the geophysical exploration institute’s production and business targets for the first half of the year, summarized key achievements in areas such as technological innovation and talent development, and outlined plans and expectations for the second half of the year.


Highlight Work

1. Integrating the “Three Transformations and Three Enhancements” into daily routines to boost motivation.

The solid implementation of Party discipline study and education, the special campaign "Three Shifts and Three Enhancements," and the "Integrity Cell" initiative have effectively inspired cadres and employees with a spirited drive to strive for success and take on responsibilities. From management personnel to frontline staff, from conference rooms to project sites, the entire institute has united as one, forging powerful synergy. The leadership team and management personnel have firmly anchored themselves to the year’s goals and tasks, refined their plans, and worked collaboratively, heading straight to the front lines of the market. They have conducted research and exchanges in Hunan, Guangzhou, and other regions, exploring new market opportunities and achieving frequent breakthroughs in market development. At the Chongqing Yuxi Wide-Area Electromagnetic Method Project, a temporary Party branch was established, and the Party flag has been flying high at the forefront. Over the course of more than a month and a half—day and night—the project team adopted a “5+2, day-and-night” work schedule, rigorously ensuring safety, strictly controlling quality, and accelerating project progress. They successfully prepared and completed a high-quality results report, thereby establishing the “Sichuan Resources Geophysical Exploration” brand.

2 Core Technologies Bolster New-Style Productivity and Secure Market Position

Using the academician workstations and innovation studios as platforms, we have tackled key and challenging issues in the industry and addressed the needs of our clients. With high-quality, efficient services and reliable outcomes, we have further strengthened our market position. In the first half of the year, we carried out four research projects and received one national award. We have also filed nine new patent applications and obtained software copyrights, and one SCI paper has been accepted for publication.

3. Cultivating Young Talent Promotes Sustainable Corporate Development

The institute encourages young talents to take on major responsibilities, play leading roles, be pioneers, and spearhead key initiatives. The post-80s and post-90s generations are actively engaged in management and cutting-edge research. The average age of project managers and technical leaders is 30, and among mid-level cadres born between 1985 and 1993, there are 18 individuals. They consistently set an example by leading from the front, personally demonstrating high standards and serving as role models. As a result, the teams they lead are highly cohesive and exceptionally capable, continuously generating innovative achievements. Technical backbone Liu Jinhui has been awarded the honorary title of “May Day Labor Medal of Sichuan Province.” Two Party members from the institute were recognized by the Group Party Committee as “Outstanding Party Members” and “Outstanding Party Workers.” The institute places great emphasis on talent development and, in 2024, was jointly commended by five departments—including the Sichuan Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security—as an “Advanced Collective for Cultivating High-Skilled Talents in Sichuan Province.”


Two representatives from the management department, two employee representatives, and one new employee representative delivered speeches, reflecting on their departments’ and their own work performance over the first half of the year.

The members of the leadership team delivered special speeches on topics including Party building, integrity and anti-corruption efforts, market operations, financial management, technical quality, and safe production, each focusing on their respective areas of responsibility.

In the first half of 2024, all cadres and employees of the Geophysical Exploration Institute worked together with one heart, tackled difficulties head-on, and moved forward with determination. By vigorously developing new quality productivity with distinctive geophysical exploration characteristics, we stabilized the market, seized expansion opportunities, refined project management practices, and boosted the quality and efficiency of enterprise production and operations. We achieved 60.03% of our annual targets, surpassing the established goal of "halfway through the year, half of the tasks completed."

The second half of the year is a critical period for the company to seize the momentum and accelerate its development. We must achieve comprehensive improvements in areas such as technological innovation, management optimization, and enhanced quality and efficiency. We will spare no effort to ensure safe production throughout the year, especially during the crucial flood-control period from late July to early August. We will step up R&D investment, promote continuous upgrades in geophysical exploration technologies, and make greater breakthroughs in tackling key technical challenges on priority projects. All cadres and employees must maintain the same vigor and fighting spirit they demonstrated in the first half of the year, keep up the momentum, and move forward with even greater enthusiasm and a more pragmatic approach, firmly advancing all tasks to ensure that the Geophysical Exploration Institute achieves its annual goals with high quality and on schedule.

Meeting Requirements

First, we must carry out the pilot program for enhancing the standardization and regularization of Party building in a high-quality manner.

Second, we must carry out high-quality Party discipline study and education activities, the special campaign “Three Transformations and Three Enhancements,” the Integrity Cell Project, and integrity culture building.

Third, we must strengthen technological research and development and formulate an innovation and technology development plan for the Geophysical Exploration Institute.

Fourth, we must accelerate the development of a team of science and technology innovation talents.

Fifth, we need to collaborate in building a technology innovation platform at the group level.

Sixth, actively engage with property owners, proactively reach out to service providers, and strengthen communication and collaboration with strategic partners.
