Sichuan Resources Group conducted a research visit to the Institute of Geophysical Exploration to learn about its science and technology innovation efforts and carried out a “cooling-off”慰问 activity.
On July 12, Li Shirong, a member of the Party Committee and Chief Engineer of the Group, along with his delegation, conducted a special research visit to the Geophysical Exploration Institute to explore scientific and technological innovation efforts.

The research team first listened to a report from the Geophysical Exploration Institute on its scientific and technological innovation efforts in the first half of 2024. They gained a detailed understanding of the Institute’s achievements and highlights in areas such as the establishment of the Group’s Geophysical Exploration Technology Innovation Center, the operation of the Sichuan Office of the Chinese Geophysical Society, the preparation for the establishment of the Sichuan Provincial Geophysical Society, the application for the Chengdu Academician (Expert) Innovation Workstation, the application for the Sichuan Provincial Demonstration Project for the Transfer and Commercialization of Scientific and Technological Achievements, and the implementation of the Institute’s distinctive geophysical exploration projects. The research team fully affirmed the remarkable achievements made by the Geophysical Exploration Institute in scientific and technological innovation and put forward specific requirements and expectations for the Institute’s future work in this field.
The research team emphasized that the Institute of Geophysical Exploration should fully leverage its strengths in the oil and gas geophysical exploration sector within the Sichuan Basin, continuously pursue innovative research, actively build a talented workforce, and constantly enhance its scientific research capabilities and technical expertise. It should make good use of cutting-edge geophysical exploration technologies—including wide-area electromagnetic exploration, wide-area electromagnetic fracturing monitoring, three-dimensional holographic electromagnetic exploration, and the “5+2” integrated technology for shale gas platforms—to provide robust technical support for the future exploration and development of oil and gas resources in regions such as Sichuan and Chongqing, and to be fully prepared to meet even greater challenges.
After the symposium, the research team visited various departments of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, delivering refreshing beverages and heat-relief supplies to the hardworking staff. They also warmly inquired about everyone’s work and living conditions, reminding them to take proper precautions against the heat, arrange their work and rest time reasonably, and ensure both their physical health and workplace safety. This “Delivering Coolness” care initiative not only allowed all employees of the Geophysical Exploration Institute to feel the Group Party Committee’s concern and warmth but also further boosted their enthusiasm for work.

Through this research and visit, the research team highly praised the geophysical exploration institute’s efforts in scientific and technological innovation. The team stated that the group will continue to provide strong support for the institute’s innovative endeavors. At the same time, they expressed hope that the geophysical exploration institute will maintain its positive momentum and make even greater contributions to promoting the group’s high-quality development.
The head of the Group’s Mineral Resources and Technological Innovation Department, along with relevant staff members, as well as members of the leadership team of the Geophysical Exploration Institute and heads of related departments, attended the research and discussion meeting.
