The Geophysical Exploration Institute’s trade union held its first session of the 4th membership congress.

On August 28, the first session of the 4th Congress of the Trade Union of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration was solemnly held to the sound of the majestic national anthem. All union members of the institute attended the meeting. Members of the institute’s leadership team in Chengdu were also present. At the meeting, Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager of the institute, delivered a speech. The congress was chaired by Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch, Member of the Discipline Inspection Committee, and Chairman of the 3rd-term Trade Union.

The conference heard and approved the work report of the previous term’s trade union committee, the report on the budget and final accounts of fund revenues and expenditures, and the work report of the fund review committee.

The congress strictly adhered to the relevant regulations and procedures for the election of new leadership in grassroots trade unions, upholding the principles of impartiality, openness, and fairness. By means of secret ballot, it elected seven members to the new Trade Union Committee, three members to the Financial Review Committee, and three members to the Women Workers’ Committee. At the same time, it also elected one Chairperson of the Trade Union, one Director of the Financial Review Committee, and one Director of the Women Workers’ Committee.

Zou Zhongping, the newly elected chairman of the trade union, delivered a statement on behalf of the new-term trade union committee:

First, firmly keep in mind the trade union’s mission, safeguard the rights and interests of the masses, and provide excellent service and support.

Second, strengthen cultural development and foster a positive, uplifting, and harmonious atmosphere.

Third, strengthen trade union development to build distinctive geophysical exploration features and create outstanding highlights in geophysical exploration.

Fourth, we must uphold the integrity and ethical standards, and with a pragmatic and truth-seeking work style, propel trade union work to a new level.

Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, fully affirmed the achievements made by the previous term’s Trade Union Committee and extended his congratulations to the members of the new term’s Trade Union Committee. At the same time, he expressed four hopes for the new Trade Union Committee:

First, uphold the Party’s leadership and stay on the right course.

Second, strengthen our own development and improve the quality of our services.

Third, focus on the central tasks and play a positive role.

Fourth, enrich cultural life and promote harmonious development.
