The Institute of Geophysical Exploration held the expanded theoretical study center group meeting of the Party Branch Committee for the first quarter of 2024.
On March 26, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration held the first-quarter 2024 theoretical study center group (expanded) meeting of the Party branch committee. Members of the Institute’s Party branch committee theoretical study center group, senior managers, and department heads attended the meeting.

At the meeting, participants engaged in intensive study of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech during the 11th collective study session of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, a compilation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important remarks on new-quality productive forces, and other key speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during the Two Sessions. They also studied the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference and the Provincial Party Committee’s Economic Work Conference. In addition, the newly revised “Regulations on Disciplinary Actions of the Communist Party of China” were interpreted. Members of the leading group then exchanged views and delivered speeches around the theme of “Using New-Quality Productive Forces to Promote High-Quality Development of the Geophysical Exploration Company.”
Combining the learning content with recent work arrangements, Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Institute, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager, emphasized that we must uphold innovation-driven development, accelerate the formation of new-quality productive forces, and inject strong momentum into high-quality development.
First, we must deeply understand the underlying logic behind the formation of new-quality productivity. We need to thoroughly grasp General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important concept of “new-quality productivity,” fully taking into account the complex current economic situation and the present state of development in the geophysical exploration industry. We should accelerate the cultivation of new-quality productivity that is uniquely suited to geophysical exploration, thereby establishing new competitive advantages and seizing opportunities for proactive development.
Second, it is essential to accurately grasp the path through which new-quality productive forces are formed. The geophysical exploration industry closely aligns with the “high-tech” characteristics of new-quality productive forces. To foster these new-quality productive forces, innovation is at the core, and talent is the key. On the one hand, we must continue to tackle the core technologies of the geophysical exploration institute, achieving more “from zero to one” technological breakthroughs. On the other hand, we need to ensure that the established core technology system undergoes iterative updates and continuous optimization. At the same time, we must accelerate the cultivation of high-level scientific and technological talents, providing a solid talent base for promoting high-quality development.
Third, we must leverage new-quality productivity to drive industrial upgrading. Fully harness the leading role of innovation, using scientific and technological innovation to spur industrial innovation. Relying on various innovation platforms, we should establish and improve project-based innovation mechanisms, promote the application and commercialization of scientific and technological innovation outcomes, and seamlessly integrate the entire innovation chain—from policy support and project applications to team development, technological breakthroughs, integration of research findings, and their widespread promotion and implementation. By continuously cultivating new development advantages, energizing development momentum, and advancing transformation and upgrading, we can unlock fresh growth potential.
