Studying the 20th National Congress | Secretary of the Party Branch of the Geophysical Exploration Institute Shares Insights on Studying the Spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC

Recently, Party members, cadres, and employees of the Geophysical Exploration Institute have been diligently studying the report delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Drawing on their personal understanding and job responsibilities, they have enthusiastically discussed the report’s contents and shared their thoughts, swiftly sparking a vigorous wave of study, publicity, and implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress. Next, let’s listen together to the heartfelt words from the secretary of the Party branch of the Geophysical Exploration Institute!

1. Secretary of the Party Branch of the Organizational Department, Guo Bing

General Secretary Xi pointed out: We must uphold the principle that science and technology are the primary productive force, talent is our primary resource, and innovation is the primary driving force. Innovation-driven development will continuously foster new growth momentum and new advantages. As geophysical exploration professionals, we have steadily advanced through persistent efforts and development, placing us at the forefront of the industry. The successful commercialization of cutting-edge geophysical exploration technologies has become a frequent theme in the development of our institute. All Party members of the Party branch within the administrative offices—and indeed all departments covered by it—as the institute’s management body, bear a significant responsibility to implement refined management, enhance management quality, and provide robust support for talent cultivation, technological innovation, and overall institutional development within the Geophysical Exploration Institute.

As a Party member, the report of the 20th National Congress has filled me with passionate enthusiasm. I deeply feel proud to be both a Chinese citizen and a Communist Party member, and this has further strengthened my resolve to dedicate my life to the practical and down-to-earth work of the institute’s operations. I will diligently carry out tasks such as business development, market access, bidding and tendering, contract management, and project process management, working closely together with all my colleagues at the Geophysical Exploration Institute to build a strong brand for our high-tech geophysical exploration enterprise. We will also deepen our integration into the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle, contributing even greater strength to elevating Sichuan’s governance and revitalization to a new level.

Secretary of the Party Branch for Electrical Prospecting, Wang Anping

In his report to the 20th National Congress, General Secretary Xi pointed out: “When the youth are strong, the nation is strong. Today’s Chinese youth are living in an era of unprecedented opportunity—a time when the stage for them to showcase their talents is immensely broad and the prospects for realizing their dreams are exceptionally bright.” As a grassroots Party branch secretary, I feel deeply inspired and profoundly moved by the greatness of our motherland. Living in such an opportune moment, we bear a heavy responsibility on our shoulders. We must both harbor lofty aspirations and remain down-to-earth; we must dare to dream and dare to act, while also being adept at turning ideas into concrete achievements.

Looking back, under the correct leadership of our Party branch committee, we seized opportunities, united everyone in hard work, forged ahead with innovation, and carried out our tasks diligently, thereby powerfully promoting the steady and rapid development of all our endeavors. Looking ahead, I will seize the significant opportunities presented by the new era and perform my duties effectively in areas such as shale gas energy development, transportation infrastructure construction, ecological conservation, and deep-earth mineral exploration.

On the one hand, we will focus on current key exploration areas, emphasize technological support, and continue to apply the relatively mature electromagnetic methods. On the other hand, we will concentrate on tackling challenges in geophysical exploration technologies and equipment, strengthen collaboration with universities and research institutes, further enhance our geophysical exploration capabilities, and achieve integrated air-, space-, and ground-based exploration, thereby providing the necessary technological boost for the company’s high-quality development.

The century-long journey has been magnificent and grand, and our original aspiration has only grown stronger over time. As the 20th National Congress of the Party approaches, I, as a fighter who remains true to our original aspiration and mission, will continue to uphold our初心 and forge ahead with an unrelenting spirit and an unwavering, pioneering attitude.

Yang Yuning, Secretary of the Logging Party Branch

The report to the 20th National Congress of the Party systematically expounds on major theoretical and practical issues concerning the upholding and development of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. It scientifically outlines the goals, tasks, and major policies for the Party’s national cause over the next five years and beyond. The report emphasizes that we must fully, accurately, and comprehensively implement the new development philosophy, uphold the direction of reform toward a socialist market economy, adhere to high-level opening-up, and accelerate the establishment of a new development pattern featuring domestic major circulation as the mainstay and mutual promotion of domestic and international dual circulations.

Over the past decade, our country has achieved milestone accomplishments in social development, and the geophysical exploration industry has also experienced a leapfrogging development. Geophysical exploration provides the theoretical foundations, methodologies, and technologies for probing the Earth’s internal structure and tectonic features, locating energy resources and other natural resources, and monitoring environmental conditions—providing crucial evidence for disaster prediction. The late renowned geophysicist, Mr. Zhao Jiuzhang, once described geophysics as follows: “We search high above the azure skies and deep beneath the yellow springs; yet everywhere we look, there’s nothing to be found.” Clearly, geophysical exploration exhaustively employs every possible method to explore both heaven and earth, delving into every corner that calls for scientific investigation. It is precisely within this context that the geophysical exploration industry has achieved rapid and healthy growth, becoming a mainstay of geological exploration and development and playing an increasingly important role in diverse fields such as highway construction, railway engineering, and geothermal energy.

As a member of the geophysical exploration industry, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration has always remained committed to being a responsible steward, a dedicated professional, an innovation leader, an open-minded pioneer, a long-term believer, and a collaborative partner—striving to better meet the needs of construction and development, serving the real economy and national strategies, promoting high-level international exchanges and cooperation, and while maintaining its strengths in established areas, also forging new frontiers and pathways for growth, continuously cultivating new drivers and advantages for development.

4th Engineering Exploration Party Branch Secretary: Zhang Guangming

At the opening ceremony of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping comprehensively summarized the work of the past five years and the great transformations of the new era over the past decade. He pointed out that, starting from now, the central task of the Communist Party of China is to unite and lead people of all ethnic groups across the country in fully building a modern socialist power and achieving the second centenary goal—thus advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese-style modernization.

As the Party branch secretary of the Engineering Exploration Department, we must unswervingly listen to the Party and follow its lead. We must always keep in mind the practical realities of advancing engineering exploration technology, diligently study and forge ahead with courage and determination in our practice. We should contribute Chinese wisdom, Chinese solutions, and Chinese strength to solving challenges in engineering construction, allowing our youth to blossom brilliantly in the fervent practice of fully building a modern socialist country.
