The Party Committee’s Theory Study Center of the Geophysical Exploration Institute conducted a special pre-meeting study session ahead of the 2025 Democratic Life Meeting.
On February 27, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration held the first study session for the Party Committee’s theoretical study center group in 2026—a special (expanded) pre-meeting study session focused on the theme: “Consolidate the ideological foundation and hone a solid work style to ensure a high-quality democratic life meeting and lay a strong foundation for a good start and steady progress during the 15th Five-Year Plan.” This session aimed to build a solid ideological and theoretical basis for successfully holding the 2025 annual democratic life meeting. Yu Changheng, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration, delivered a concluding speech. Attending the meeting were members of the company’s leadership team, secretaries of all party branches based in Chengdu, and heads of departments (and entities).
Before the meeting, all participants engaged in self-study around the learning theme, thoroughly studying key materials such as General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of important thoughts and discourses, as well as relevant documents and regulations issued by the Central Committee and the provincial Party committee. During the meeting, all participants conducted group study sessions, and members of the core study group shared their insights, drawing on their ideological understanding, job responsibilities, and practical work experiences.
The meeting pointed out that we must deeply understand General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thoughts and expositions on Party building, self-revolution, and style of work, and fully and accurately implement the spirit of the Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation. We should carry out all preparatory work for the democratic life meetings with strict standards and a pragmatic approach, ensuring that these meetings become an important opportunity to strengthen Party spirit, improve work styles, and build cohesive strength.
The meeting emphasized that we should take this special study session as an opportunity to turn our learning outcomes into concrete actions that drive our work. We must closely align with the Group’s development strategy and the development goals for the 15th Five-Year Plan, ground ourselves in the actual conditions of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, and focus on key tasks such as enhancing our core businesses, achieving breakthroughs in challenging projects, and leveraging technological innovation. We should shoulder our development responsibilities with a solid and pragmatic work ethic, and use tangible results to verify the effectiveness of our learning. In doing so, we will contribute our geophysical exploration expertise to the Group’s accelerated efforts to build itself into a first-class, resource-based, strategic, large-scale state-owned enterprise.
The meeting requested, one... First, we must deepen our ideological understanding, solidify our political loyalty, and align our thoughts and actions with the decisions and deployments of higher authorities, holding democratic life meetings with a high degree of political awareness. Second, we must adhere to the integration of learning and practice, closely focusing on actual work to identify problems, delve deeply into their root causes, and conduct criticism and self-criticism in a serious and earnest manner. Third, we must concentrate on our primary responsibilities and core tasks, promote quality improvement and efficiency enhancement, and ensure deep integration between Party building and business operations, effectively translating our learning outcomes into practical results in performing our duties. Fourth, we must rigorously implement rectifications, consolidate our learning achievements, promptly address identified issues, establish long-term mechanisms, proactively accept supervision, and use the effectiveness of our rectifications to validate the outcomes of the meeting.
