On January 25, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration and the Aksu Geological Team of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Bureau of Geology successfully signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Aksu, Xinjiang, marking the beginning of a new chapter of complementary advantages and collaborative development between the two parties.

Under the agreement, both parties will focus on three core areas to deepen cooperation and pool their efforts to tackle tough challenges: First, strengthening the security barrier for energy and resource supplies by jointly conducting comprehensive exploration of minerals and oil & gas in key mineralization belts such as the Aksu region, the Tianshan Mountains, and the western Kunlun Mountains, thereby precisely tapping into the region’s resource potential. Second, overcoming bottlenecks in mineral exploration technologies. In response to Xinjiang’s complex geological structures and unique exploration environments, the two sides will integrate their respective technological and equipment strengths, focusing on breakthroughs in critical technologies such as deep-earth exploration, thus enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of regional mineral exploration. Third, promoting synergistic empowerment through science and technology and talent development. This includes co-building innovation platforms, jointly applying for major research projects, establishing a long-term mechanism for joint talent cultivation, and solidifying the human and technological foundations for the development of the geology sector.

This signing is both an important step for both parties to thoroughly implement the nation’s geological development strategy and to steadily advance the implementation and effectiveness of the new round of mineral exploration breakthrough initiatives. It also represents a concrete practice by the Institute of Geophysical Exploration in carrying out the Group’s strategic plan for expanding its presence in the northwest region and deepening its strategic cooperation with the Geological Bureau of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. This move marks the official transition of our cooperation from fragmented project-based engagements to a new strategic phase characterized by systematic planning and large-scale collaboration, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of regional geological exploration and technological innovation.

In the future, taking this signing as an opportunity, both sides will join forces and pull in the same direction, bravely forging ahead on a new journey of high-quality development in the geological sector and jointly writing a brand-new chapter marked by resource security, technological innovation, and mutually beneficial cooperation.
