The Institute of Geophysical Exploration makes its debut at the industry’s premier event, injecting new momentum into the development of geophysical technologies.
On November 23, the 21st National Security Geophysics Symposium was held in Chengdu. This year’s symposium was themed “Intelligent Detection Technologies and Geophysics,” co-organized by the National Security Geophysics Professional Committee of the Chinese Geophysical Society and other institutions. The event attracted over 200 experts and scholars from research institutes, universities, and related enterprises and institutions across China. Participants engaged in in-depth exchanges on the deep integration of intelligent detection technologies and geophysics, focusing on the application achievements and latest developments of relevant theories, methods, and technologies in the field of national security.
As a co-organizer, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration actively participated in this grand event and was invited to deliver a special report titled “Innovative Applications of Electromagnetic Methods in the New Round of Mineral Exploration Breakthroughs.” The report systematically introduced the Institute’s core technological system in the field of electromagnetic exploration, covering key technologies such as 3D holographic electromagnetic methods, wide-field electromagnetic methods, 3D induced polarization, semi-airborne transient electromagnetic methods, and phase-induced polarization. It also showcased the practical application results of these technologies through several typical case studies. At the same time, the report outlined future development directions for electromagnetic exploration technologies, emphasizing the need to focus on integrated “air-space-ground-well” comprehensive exploration. Specifically, it highlighted key areas such as massive data storage and processing, multi-source heterogeneous data fusion, and intelligent interpretation, and proposed the development of practical, user-friendly, and intelligent data processing systems to continuously drive innovation and the commercialization of electromagnetic exploration technologies.
Through this seminar, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration fully demonstrated its technological strengths and practical experience in electromagnetic exploration. Leveraging the platform advantages of the Sichuan Office of the Chinese Geophysical Society, the institute effectively established a bridge for technical exchange and collaboration within the industry, injecting new momentum into supporting the new round of mineral exploration breakthrough initiatives and promoting high-quality development of geophysical endeavors vital to national security.
