On August 21, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration held the third (expanded) study session for the Party Committee’s theoretical study group in 2025. The meeting was chaired by Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Institute’s Party Committee, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and Chairman of the Trade Union. Yu Changheng, Deputy Secretary of the Institute’s Party Committee and General Manager, delivered a concluding speech. Members of the Institute’s Party Committee’s theoretical study group and mid-level cadres attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on studying the important speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his inspection tours of Guizhou, Yunnan, and Henan provinces, the core principles and practical achievements of the Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation, the Regulations on Strict Economy and Opposing Waste in Party and Government Organs, the Selected Statements by Xi Jinping on Strengthening the Party’s Work Style Construction, the spirit of the Meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and the spirit of the Seventh Plenary Session of the 12th Provincial Party Committee. The meeting also conveyed the key remarks made by Vice Governor Chen Shuping during his research visit to the Group, as well as the spirit of the Group’s August dispatch meeting. Members of the central study group engaged in exchanges and discussions around the theme of “The Regulations on Strict Economy and Opposing Waste in Party and Government Organs.”

Meeting Requirements
First, we must study and deeply understand the regulations, grasping the key points of the revisions and the practical requirements. Second, we should focus on our institute’s own work, identifying weak links in the efforts to practice thrift and combat waste. Third, we must concentrate on implementation, strengthening awareness of thrift and ensuring that responsibilities for thrift are firmly enforced.
The meeting emphasized.
First, we must stay firmly focused on our direction and ensure that responsibilities are effectively implemented. We will adopt more concrete measures to ensure that the spirit of important instructions from higher authorities is thoroughly put into practice and that arrangements and deployments made at the Group’s coordination meetings are fully carried out. By demonstrating political commitment, we will guarantee that our work yields tangible results. Second, we must strengthen rectification efforts and solidify our foundations. With a “nailing down” spirit, we will drive the complete resolution of issues identified in inspection tours,巡察 inspections, and audit feedback. We will remain firmly committed to “genuine and substantive” rectifications, eliminate superficial or fake corrections, and establish a closed-loop system of “identification, rectification, and effectiveness assessment,” thereby laying a solid foundation for our work. Third, we must promote coordinated advancement and unleash vitality. We will advance initiatives such as project acquisition, technological innovation, and team building. Through strategic partnerships, we will connect with high-quality resources and deepen collaboration between universities and enterprises, creating a new pattern of internal and external synergy. We will increase R&D investment, build robust platforms, and implement a talent strategy of “attracting external expertise while cultivating internal talent,” turning key tasks into powerful engines driving our development.
