The Institute of Geophysical Exploration held the 2024 Annual Democratic Life Meeting for Party Member Leading Cadres.
On the morning of March 4, the Party Committee of the Geophysical Exploration Institute held its 2024 democratic life meeting for party member leading cadres. Li Shirong, a member of the Group Party Committee and Chief Engineer, along with Bai Changzheng, Deputy Director of the Party Committee’s Organization Department, attended the meeting to provide guidance. The leadership team of the Geophysical Exploration Institute and members of the Party Committee also participated. The meeting was chaired by Yu Changheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute.

To ensure the success of this democratic life meeting, members of the geophysical exploration institute’s leadership team and Party committee members focused on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Party. Through self-study and holding study sessions of the theoretical study center group, they closely linked their studies to practical work, actively engaged in theoretical study and discussion, widely solicited public opinion, fully practiced democracy, conducted in-depth heart-to-heart talks, promoted communication and exchange, and carefully prepared materials for self-examination and self-criticism.
At the meeting, Comrade Yu Changheng briefed on the preparation for the meeting, the process of soliciting opinions, and the implementation of corrective measures from the special democratic life meeting on studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as well as on rectifying issues identified during inspection tours. On behalf of the leadership team of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, he conducted a self-examination and took the lead in delivering a personal self-examination statement. Other members of the leadership team and Party committee members then each carried out their own self-examinations, engaging in thorough self-criticism and mutual criticism.
In his commentary, Li Shirong pointed out that this democratic life meeting was characterized by a precise grasp of the theme, thorough preparation beforehand, profound identification of problems, candid and constructive mutual criticism, and a clear direction for rectification. The meeting atmosphere was serious and conducive to building consensus, fostering unity and striving forward, promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, and ensuring rigorous implementation—all of which yielded excellent results.
Regarding the next steps of work, Li Shirong put forward three requirements for the leadership team of the Geophysical Exploration Institute:
First, we must set an example in our loyalty to the Party, drawing nourishment for our Party spirit from the Party’s innovative theories, continuously enhancing our political and practical awareness, and transforming our learning outcomes into a powerful driving force for advancing concrete work.
Second, we must further deepen the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party. Recently, the Group Party Committee approved the transformation of the Party General Branch of the Geophysical Exploration Institute into a Party Committee. We hope that the new leadership team of the Geophysical Exploration Institute’s Party Committee will earnestly fulfill its principal responsibility as a Party committee, consistently uphold the spirit of reform and stringent standards in Party governance, persistently enforce discipline, rectify conduct, and combat corruption, and strive to create a political environment characterized by integrity and honesty as well as a favorable development environment. We also encourage Party members and cadres to pursue their work and entrepreneurship with compliance and discipline, and to take the lead with courage and determination.
Third, we must earnestly address the identified issues by developing a comprehensive list of corrective action plans, clearly assigning responsibilities to all relevant parties, and ensuring that the remediation efforts are both effective and impactful. Taking high-quality rectification as an opportunity, we should strive to achieve new breakthroughs and deliver even greater results in promoting the Group’s high-quality development and serving national strategies.
Yu Changheng, on behalf of the Party Committee of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, delivered a statement expressing the institute’s commitment to earnestly implementing the guiding instructions of the Group’s leadership. Taking this democratic life meeting as an opportunity, the institute will consolidate and deepen the achievements of Party discipline study and education. With the determination to leave clear footprints wherever we step, we will steadily advance rectification efforts, continuously enhance the overall capability building of both the leadership team and individual members, unite the strength of all staff, and deliver concrete results in our practical work. In this way, we will demonstrate our sense of responsibility and commitment in contributing to the Group’s journey toward high-quality development.
