The Geophysical Exploration Institute and Chongqing Shale Gas Company Conduct Technical Exchange
Recently, Gu Zhiwen, a member of the Party Branch Committee of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, Deputy General Manager, and Chief Engineer, led a team in an in-depth exchange with Chongqing Shale Gas Company on technologies such as holographic electromagnetic methods and oil-and-gas logging, further exploring the potential for future cooperation between the two sides in the field of oil-and-gas exploration and development.

At the exchange meeting, the technical team from the Geophysical Exploration Institute elaborated in detail on the core principles of holographic electromagnetic technology—a new innovation—and its innovative applications in key areas such as residual oil exploration and enhanced recovery from old shale gas wells. Through vivid case studies and data comparisons, they demonstrated the method’s remarkable advantages in improving exploration accuracy and reducing development costs.
During this period, the Geophysical Exploration Institute also focused on sharing successful well-logging cases from recent years in the oil and gas sector, showcased some advanced well-logging equipment and technologies, and laid a solid foundation for further enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of oil-and-gas well logging as well as for deepening cooperation between the two parties in the next phase.
Chongqing Shale Gas Company believes that the holographic electromagnetic method developed by the Geophysical Exploration Institute has achieved a major breakthrough in three-dimensional acquisition and processing technologies, with remarkable results in applications within oil and gas systems. Moreover, its oil and gas well logging technology has demonstrated strong professional expertise. At the end of the meeting, participants engaged in lively discussions and exchanges.
Both sides expressed that this exchange was highly timely, not only deepening mutual understanding but also pointing the way forward for future cooperation. As the next step, both sides will further collaborate in oil and gas development, jointly promoting innovation and advancement in oil and gas exploration and production technologies.
