Deepen exchange on fracture monitoring and jointly promote the advancement of oil and gas development monitoring technologies.
On February 12, Gu Zhiwen, a member of the Party Branch Committee of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, Deputy General Manager, and Chief Engineer, led a team to Hunan Jishan High-Tech Co., Ltd. for an exchange on fracturing monitoring technologies. Yan Xiaohua, Executive Deputy General Manager of Jishan High-Tech, joined the meeting along with the fracturing monitoring interpretation technology team. Zhang Guangda, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Sichuan Provincial Geophysical Society, and Yu Changheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch Committee and General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, participated via video conference. The meeting focused on current technological shortcomings in fracturing monitoring, enhancing services to meet client needs, addressing technical challenges, as well as an in-depth discussion on the Geophysical Exploration Institute’s 2024 regional fracturing monitoring project report and future development directions for fracturing monitoring.

At the meeting, both sides systematically reviewed the shortcomings encountered during the implementation of the 2024 project and jointly discussed solutions. Regarding issues such as communication delays in project implementation, the need for further improvement and optimization of the cloud platform, the urgency of enhancing the timeliness of monitoring data collection and interpretation, as well as the need to improve the performance of hardware equipment and promptly meet the on-site requirements of the client, the technical teams from both sides engaged in thorough discussions and reached a number of consensus on improvements. Both sides also agreed to establish a regular exchange mechanism to continuously promote the optimization and enhancement of fracturing monitoring technology.
With regard to the 2024 geophysical exploration institute’s reporting and summarizing work on fracture monitoring projects across various blocks, both parties reached consensus on the report framework, key content areas, data analysis methods, and personnel division of labor. A joint drafting team has been established, and a standardized data processing and analysis workflow will be adopted to ensure that the reporting and summarizing tasks are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
Both sides also thoroughly discussed the development direction of fracture monitoring technologies, and agreed on the next steps to continuously optimize these technologies, accelerate the R&D of “seismic-electrical integrated” three-dimensional monitoring technologies, develop real-time data analysis modules based on artificial intelligence, enhance the automated processing capabilities of monitoring data, and jointly promote advancements in fracture monitoring technologies, thereby providing solid technical support for the efficient development of the nation’s oil and gas resources.
