In response to the major strategic deployment by Sichuan Resources Group to expand its mineral resource market in the Northwest region, from January 8 to 10, Yu Changheng, General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, led a team to Xinjiang to carry out a series of visits, coordination efforts, and exchanges, achieving remarkable results.
During this period, the Geophysical Exploration Institute visited a number of organizations, including the Xinjiang Institute of Geology, the Urumqi Geological Brigade, the Coalfield Geological Center, and the Yaxin Coalbed Methane Group. At each destination, the institute engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues such as exploration of solid mineral resources and exploration and development of oil and gas resources. The discussions focused on emerging trends and new demands in Xinjiang’s energy and mineral sector, particularly in the context of a new round of strategic mineral exploration. The institute also conducted specialized technical exchanges. Leveraging its own professional strengths, the Geophysical Exploration Institute actively explored additional application scenarios for innovative technological achievements in Xinjiang’s energy and mineral exploration and development, thereby setting clear directions for future collaboration.

Sign a strategic cooperation agreement

Among these efforts, a strategic cooperation agreement has been signed with the Urumqi Geological Team of the Xinjiang Bureau of Geology. The two parties have agreed to collaborate closely in multiple areas—including project implementation, technological innovation, and talent exchange—focusing on business sectors such as energy and mineral exploration and development in Xinjiang. Together, they are committed to strengthening the capacity for scientific and technological innovation in the exploration and development of energy and mineral resources, thereby injecting strong momentum into driving Xinjiang’s energy and mineral exploration and development toward high-quality growth.

Hold a special seminar

In addition, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration successfully held a special seminar with Xinjiang Yaxin Coalbed Methane Group on advanced geophysical technologies for oil and gas exploration and development. At the seminar, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions centered on key topics such as coalbed methane exploration, well logging, redevelopment of old well areas, fracture monitoring, and technological innovation. The discussions were highly productive and enjoyable, and the two parties smoothly reached an agreement on cooperation, laying a solid foundation for future joint efforts and mutual advancement.

This visit to Xinjiang for field trips and exchanges has not only deepened the cooperative relationship between the Geophysical Exploration Institute and relevant local entities in Xinjiang, but also further expanded the Institute's exploration market for oil & gas and solid minerals in Xinjiang. It is a concrete step taken by the Group to integrate into the new pattern of western development and expand its geological exploration business in provinces rich in Natural Resources, injecting new momentum into the Group’s strategic deployment in this region. In the future, the Geophysical Exploration Institute will continue to broaden its mineral market in the northwest region and play a substantive role in the country’s new round of mineral exploration efforts through its technological innovation capabilities.
