Thematic Education | Promoting in-depth and practical implementation of thematic education—Geophysical Exploration Institute conducts thorough research to tackle pressing challenges.
To further promote the in-depth and practical implementation of the thematic education on studying and applying Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and to foster deeper integration between the institute’s discipline inspection and supervision work and its core business activities, from June 2 to 3, Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch Committee, Member of the Discipline Inspection Committee, and Chairman of the Trade Union; and Gu Zhiwen, Member of the Party Branch Committee, Deputy General Manager, and Chief Engineer, led staff from the Party and Mass Work Department and the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Office to conduct thorough field investigations and on-site supervision at the institute’s key project—the Chongqing Yuxi Project. They gained a clear understanding of the project’s implementation status and the oversight efforts carried out by relevant functional departments, extending the reach of supervision directly to the project site and making every effort to ensure the efficient and integrity-driven advancement of this key project.
Zou Zhongping and his delegation conducted on-site inspections of the project site and construction operations. Through methods such as listening to work reports, holding symposiums and exchanges, and reviewing relevant documentation, they focused their inspection on the implementation of internal control systems, project management, and safe production. During the symposium, participants exchanged views on key areas including project management, cost control, technical quality, and Party organization building. They analyzed the major challenges and bottlenecks in project construction, identified weak links in the work, and pinpointed critical points for preventing corruption risks.
Zou Zhongping fully affirmed the commitment to maintaining high standards and stringent requirements throughout the project construction. He pointed out that this research visit aims to gain a comprehensive understanding of the specific situation regarding the establishment and implementation of temporary Party branches for key projects, as well as the work on building an honest and clean government. By setting “model examples,” we can further promote the high-quality development of the Geophysical Exploration Institute. The project teams must, based on actual conditions, build and strengthen these temporary Party branches to high standards, fully leveraging the exemplary and leading role of Party members and continuously fostering deep integration between Party building and production. At the same time, as key projects of the Institute, we must treat all kinds of inspections and supervisions appropriately, cultivate the habit of voluntarily accepting supervision in our daily work, ensure standardized management, and thereby boost the high-quality development of the projects.
Zou Zhongping also briefed the project team members on the relevant details of Chairman Xu from the Group’s visit to the Geophysical Exploration Institute for research, and conveyed the spirit of Chairman Xu’s remarks at the symposium. While clarifying doubts and addressing concerns, he also encouraged everyone to remain confident and strive vigorously. He emphasized four key points: First, we must strengthen project management, uphold the organization’s image, and build a strong brand for Sichuan’s resource exploration geophysics; second, we must effectively control costs, cultivate a sense of efficiency, and thoroughly and meticulously implement cost reduction and efficiency enhancement measures to maximize project benefits; third, we must prioritize quality and safety management, firmly instilling the awareness that “quality comes first, safety comes first,” and ensure both quality and safety are top-notch; fourth, we must address existing problems and shortcomings with honesty and pragmatism, ensuring that corrective actions and improvements are genuinely implemented and yield tangible results.
There are no small matters in enterprise development—every branch and every leaf matters deeply. The Party’s discipline inspection department of the institute will continue to promote the thematic education in a rigorous and pragmatic manner, staying true to its own functions and responsibilities, strengthening supervision and ensuring effective implementation, and smoothing out the “nerve endings” of oversight. In doing so, it will provide robust disciplinary and work-style guarantees for the high-quality completion of all tasks at the Geophysical Exploration Institute.
