“Sending Coolness” in Midsummer—Caring Hearts Soothe the Soul: The Geophysical Exploration Institute’s Union Launches Summer “Sending Coolness” Campaign

In the height of summer, we “bring coolness,” offering care that deeply touches the heart.

Since the onset of summer, high-temperature weather has been increasing in the Sichuan Basin and surrounding areas. Particularly in recent times, scorching sunshine and intense heat waves have become frequent, posing significant challenges to the fieldwork operations of the Geophysical Exploration Institute. Despite these extreme temperatures, the institute’s staff continue to remain steadfast at their posts with high enthusiasm and a serious work ethic.

The well-being of the employees is always at the heart of concern for the hospital’s leadership and the trade union. From June 27 to 28, Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch Committee, Member of the Discipline Inspection Commission, and Chairman of the Trade Union, led trade union staff to the fracturing monitoring project at Wells Yi206–251 and the exploration project in the Weiyuan Shale Gas Industrial Park. There, they carried out a “Delivering Coolness” care activity for frontline production workers, delivering heat-prevention and cooling medicines, refreshing watermelons, and beverages directly into the hands of the workers on site. This gesture brought a touch of coolness and heartfelt care to the grassroots workers, deeply touching their hearts and fully safeguarding their physical and mental health. Zou Zhongping presented bottled water and watermelon to the busy workers and engaged in warm, friendly conversations with them, asking about their work conditions, measures taken against the heat, and their daily lives. He also reminded them to pay close attention to heat prevention and cooling, remain constantly vigilant about safety, enhance their safety awareness, take proper self-protection measures, and follow regulations and standard operating procedures.

Meanwhile, Zou Zhongping also emphasized that, as the “July 1st” anniversary approaches, Party members and cadres involved in the project must demonstrate their role as pioneers and role models, taking the lead in stepping up their efforts and working with renewed vigor, thereby celebrating the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Party with high-quality project outcomes.

A gentle coolness gently permeates the hearts of the project staff. Everyone truly feels the care and concern from the Geophysical Exploration Institute, which has greatly boosted their enthusiasm to battle the high temperatures, boost production, and ensure safety. This has further strengthened their cohesion and sense of unity, laying a solid foundation for us to wholeheartedly and collaboratively achieve all our project goals and tasks with high quality.
