On March 1, 2022, Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch Committee, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, conducted safety and quality inspections at the “Special Investigation Project for Gob Areas in Weiyuan Chemical Industry Park” and the “Special Investigation Project for Gob Areas along the Cargo Highway in Southern Sichuan Metallurgical Logistics Port.”

The two special exploration projects for goaf areas inspected this time utilize the most advanced equivalent inverse-flux transient electromagnetic instrument currently available in China. This equipment is specifically designed for engineering exploration applications at depths of approximately 300 meters or less. It boasts advantages such as portability, strong anti-interference capability, and rapid data acquisition, and has achieved remarkable results in geological hazard investigations.

After listening to the project leader’s briefing on the overall status of the project at the site, Zhang Guangda expressed his appreciation for the project team’s progress and initial achievements in the earlier stages. Regarding technical quality management, he particularly emphasized that the project team must strictly adhere to quality control standards and ensure that the data collection work—as well as the submission of subsequent results reports—are completed on time, with guaranteed quality and quantity, in full compliance with the owner’s requirements. He also stressed that the pass rate of collected data must reach 100%, standing up to rigorous scrutiny in later stages. He encouraged everyone to continuously strengthen their technical expertise, enhance their capacity for scientific and technological innovation, and thereby boost the core competitiveness of the Geophysical Exploration Institute.

Zhang Guangda put forward two requirements for the next phase of work: First, continue to strengthen safety production efforts; members of the project team must remain vigilant and persistent in their efforts to prevent all kinds of safety accidents. Second, given the unpredictable spring weather—characterized by frequent changes and dry conditions—it is crucial to pay close attention to forest fire prevention and step up inspections for potential fire hazards at both the project headquarters and construction sites.
