The Institute of Geophysical Exploration held its second-quarter 2023 staff meeting.

On July 10, the second-quarter employee meeting for 2023 of the Geophysical Exploration Institute was held in Chengdu. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute. All cadres and employees of the Institute based in Chengdu, as well as some field project staff (via video conference), attended the meeting.

At the meeting, members of the institute’s leadership team each provided a summary and made arrangements for their respective areas of responsibility. Heads of the Institute’s Department of Operational Audit, Department of Technical Quality, and Department of Equipment Safety Supervision delivered special presentations focusing on their departments’ work.

Zhang Guangda analyzed and assessed the work of the Geophysical Exploration Institute for the first half of 2023. He noted that, in the first half of the year, the Institute maintained a stable safety production situation, saw an improvement in the quality rate of technical reports, and achieved remarkable results in Party building and integrity-building efforts. In the first half of the year, the Institute signed a total of 183 project contracts across various regions including Inner Mongolia, Guangdong, Tibet, Yunnan, and Sichuan-Chongqing—covering a wide range of locations and demonstrating robust business activity. Taking into account the specific characteristics and practical realities of the geophysical exploration and geological survey industries, all staff members of the Institute must continue to work together with unwavering determination and sustained effort in the second half of the year to successfully achieve the goals and tasks set at the beginning of the year. Regarding the key priorities for the second half of the year, he emphasized:

First, strengthen coordination with the project representatives from the client, ensure high-quality and efficient completion of production tasks in accordance with contractual requirements, and properly handle project settlement work to lay a solid foundation for achieving the annual targets.

Second, we must firmly shoulder our responsibility for safe production. We are currently in a period marked by high temperatures, the flood season, and frequent geological disasters. Therefore, we must remain highly vigilant at all times, fully recognize the utmost importance of safety work, and take thorough measures to prevent heatstroke, flooding, and insect infestations. We must also strictly ensure the safety of electricity use and vehicle operation. Always integrate safety into every aspect and stage of production and operations, thereby creating a sound safety environment for the successful hosting of the Chengdu Universiade and the high-quality development of the Geophysical Exploration Institute.

Third, in the collection of geophysical exploration data, we must strictly adhere to the design specifications and standards to obtain high-quality data. We should make good use of software tools and integrate knowledge from multiple disciplines to produce high-level reports. We should also put great effort into translating research findings into practical applications, publishing papers, securing software copyrights, and obtaining invention patents, thereby continuously driving forward the development of scientific and technological innovation.

Fourth, we will strictly implement the requirements of the Group Party Committee, further consolidate and expand the achievements of the thematic education campaign, and ensure that the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China is effectively put into practice. We will genuinely transform the outcomes of the thematic education into a powerful driving force for development and promote the integrated development of Party building and business operations.

Fifth, strictly implement the hospital’s “two forms and one document” system, manage projects in accordance with the requirements raised by the audit, continuously foster a work environment characterized by integrity and honesty, and strengthen the ideological defense against corruption and misconduct.

Sixth, continue to uphold the excellent spirit and vitality of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, strengthen team building, highlight and promote the outstanding achievements of second- and third-level teams, cultivate a high-caliber team dedicated to innovation and entrepreneurship, and maintain the team’s advanced nature and stability.
