The Institute of Geophysical Exploration held its 2024 Work Conference.

On February 2, the Institute of Geophysical Exploration held its 2024 Work Conference. More than 90 people attended the meeting, including members of the institute’s leadership team, members of the Party branch committee, senior managers, retired cadres, and employees working in Chengdu.

At the meeting, Zhang Guangda, Secretary of the Party Branch, Chairman of the Board, and General Manager of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, delivered a work report titled “Focusing on Core Competencies, Deepening Our Presence in the Geophysical Exploration Market, and Striving to Build a Leading Domestic Geophysical Exploration Enterprise.”

He stated that, in 2023, despite a complex and challenging external environment, the Geophysical Exploration Institute consistently adhered to the guiding principles of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Under the strong leadership of the Party Committee of Sichuan Resources Group and through the concerted efforts of all employees, the institute not only overfulfilled its annual production targets but also delivered an outstanding performance: operating revenue increased by 34.36%, profits rose by 10.47%, employee incomes grew by 11%, the asset-liability ratio stood at 50.82%, and the growth rate of state-owned assets reached 133%. Moreover, the four youth-led technology innovation studios achieved remarkable results; seismic safety assessments, solid mineral exploration, and coalbed methane resource evaluations all progressed steadily; the institute actively supported the group’s ecological and environmental initiatives and vigorously developed related businesses; technological innovation yielded tangible achievements; brand-building efforts proved highly effective; Party building was strengthened through solid foundational work; and talent development was carried out in an orderly manner.

2024 is a pivotal year for the Geophysical Exploration Institute as it embarks on a new journey to vigorously promote high-quality development. We are determined to achieve the following targets: a 12% increase in operating revenue, a 6% rise in profits, stable income levels for employees currently on the payroll, zero safety incidents, and a 100% pass rate for reports.

He outlined the key approaches to achieving the 2024 goals and tasks: First, pursue progress while maintaining stability, seek stability amid progress, seize opportunities, and promote development. Second, deepen our focus on technology-led initiatives and achieve breakthroughs in strengthening technological empowerment. Third, enhance internal audits, internal controls, and cost refinement. Fourth, elevate the level of safety production management. Fifth, deepen technical quality management, improve the technical quality assurance system, and deliver high-quality geophysical exploration projects. Sixth, focus on talent development and team building to foster a strong enterprise through talented individuals. Seventh, uphold Party leadership, and ensure that Party discipline, labor unions, and youth leagues demonstrate a fresh and vibrant outlook.

During the group discussion on the 2024 work report of the Geophysical Exploration Institute, all staff members related their experiences and offered suggestions one by one, drawing on their own work realities.

The leadership team, various entities, and administrative departments have claimed their 2024 annual target task assignments.

The meeting commended the advanced collectives, outstanding project teams, advanced production workers, and individuals who excelled in safety production for the year 2023. Li Zhen, Wang Anping, Niu Shuangchen, and Wang Zhigang delivered speeches as representatives of the advanced individuals.

Zou Zhongping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch, Member of the Discipline Inspection Committee, and Chairman of the Trade Union of the Institute of Geophysical Exploration, reported on the income and expenditure of the institute’s trade union funds and delivered a concluding speech titled “Unite Hearts and Gather Strength for a New Start—Act Diligently and Take Responsibility to Open Up a New Chapter.” He emphasized: We must leverage our strengths to enhance our innovation capabilities; we must improve our management skills by perfecting our systems; we must strengthen Party building leadership to enhance our overall quality; and we must ensure the effective implementation of the spirit of the conference.
