On August 2, the “Wide-Area Electromagnetic Fracturing Monitoring Project for Wells Pulu 1-3,” undertaken by the Geophysical Exploration Institute, successfully passed acceptance testing at the Dazhou Base of the Puguang Branch of Sinopec Zhongyuan Oilfield.

At the acceptance meeting, the project leader from the Geophysical Exploration Institute highlighted the refined processing technology of wide-area electromagnetic methods applied to this project, as well as the clear advantages of its implementation guidance in temporary plugging operations. Sinopec Zhongyuan Oilfield Puguang Branch expressed high appreciation for the Geophysical Exploration Institute’s technical strength and professional expertise, particularly commending the immediacy of information processing and feedback in fracture monitoring using wide-area electromagnetic methods, as well as the continuously improving intuitiveness of mapping and modeling. They believe that this project not only demonstrates the tremendous potential of wide-area electromagnetic methods in oil and gas field development but also lays a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two parties.

Faster, higher, stronger—this motto not only vividly captures the relentless pursuit of excellence and courageous ascent to new heights by Chinese Olympic athletes this summer, but also serves as the guiding principle and technological aspiration for the wide-area electromagnetic fracturing monitoring technology developed by the Institute of Geophysical Exploration. The Institute of Geophysical Exploration will continue to enhance its geophysical exploration technologies and service quality, providing clients with even higher-quality and more efficient solutions, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of China’s energy sector.
