“The true essence of life isn’t poverty and suffering—it’s hope and dreams. So hold tightly to the pen in your hand and paint a colorful life for yourself.”

“Colors of Life” tells the touching story of Shang Yu, a female volunteer teacher at Liangshan Yue Liangwan Middle School, who helps Yi students Haila Gutie and Qu Mu Dache complete their studies, using knowledge to transform their destinies and ultimately dedicating herself to the development of her hometown.

The film’s story is gripping and suspenseful, the actors deliver vivid and moving performances, and it’s steeped in rich ethnic flavor. With its straightforward yet profound language, the film sincerely conveys the director’s deep affection for the land of Daliangshan, resonating deeply with audiences and prompting them to reflect. At touching moments, many viewers couldn’t help but shed tears. After watching the film, Party members, cadres, and employees of the Geophysical Exploration Institute unanimously expressed that, in their future studies and work, they would take as an example frontline educators like Teacher Shang Yu, actively put their original aspirations and missions into practice, perform their duties conscientiously and down-to-earth, work diligently, and make selfless contributions—thus lending their geophysical exploration expertise to the vigorous writing of a new chapter of Chinese-style modernization in Sichuan.
